Th e program will start with a welcome dinner-cruise on the Danube, off ering a breathtaking view of
the twin-city Buda and Pest. Everything you see on either side between Margaret Bridge and the Chain
Bridge is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Castle Hill with its fairytale-like Fishermen’s Bastion,
Matthias Church and the huge Royal Palace are, undoubtedly, the gems of the Danube’s right side, while
the Parliament building commands the cityscape on the left side.
On board the boat you will enjoy a delicious dinner aft er sunset in a relaxing atmosphere.

Excursion by bus to Grassalkovich Palace in
Gödöllő, which lies in a valley only 30 kms
from Budapest, has been part of the royal
hunting grounds for centuries. Th e Palace was a
coronation gift for Queen Elisabeth (Sissy) and
King Francis Joseph in 1867. It used to be the
summer residence of the Habsburgs. Th e guided
tour includes a short concert in the Palace’s
theater.
Th e next stop is the Lázár Equestrian Park in Domonyvölgy,
where the atmosphere of Hungarian villages is combined with
the fl avor of a horse stud of European excellence and hospitality.
A visit to the stables, where the Lázárs’ trophies and champion
horses can be seen complements the visit. From the tribune
you will enjoy a remarkable horse show, followed by the tastes
of traditional Hungarian cuisine and matching local wines and
spirits.

Th e morning program starts with a guided tour through the national pride and symbol of the state, the neo-
gothic Hungarian Parliament. We will show you the breathtaking building, the Hungarian Royal Crown
and other coronation regalia exhibited in the Dome Hall. Th e tour goes on to St. Stephen’s Cathedral,
where – beside the rich interior - you can enjoy a mini-concert. A young talent plays the organ especially
for us. Th e highlight of the evening will be the Induction Ceremony followed by the Gala Dinner at Hotel
Hilton located in the Buda Castle district.
Sunday, 13th September 2015
Th e plan is to spend a wonderful day discovering the city, starting the Castle district enchanting Fishermen’s
Bastion and Matthias Church. Aft er seeing these, you can walk around the massive fortress, the Citadel,
and the imposing Statue of Liberty on the top of Gellért Hill, from where you have a breathtaking view of
the Danube and most of the city. On the Pest side you will see the Vajdahunyad Castle in the City Park. Th e
country’s dramatic history comes to life on Heroes’ Square with the Millennium Monument. Aft er the city
tour, an excellent farewell lunch will be served in the over 100-year-old Gundel Restaurant.

Th e full-day bus tour takes us to one of the most famous wine regions of Hungary, namely to Eger approx.
a 90-minute drive North-East of Budapest. We start with tasting local food and wine specialities before visit
to the Eger Castle, which was built in neo-classical style. Eger Castle, one of the historic forts that defended
Hungary from the Turkish invasion, is also a must. We cannot skip the Marzipan Museum, a very special
place, showcasing incredible pieces of art made of marzipan. We promise you will not believe your own eyes.
Watching only, not tasting!
Th e tour in Eger ends in a famous winery, with a mouthwatering early dinner. Th e food is prepared in
traditional ovens and served in a cellar by the Th ummerer Family.

For a great opening of the day we will start in the 100-year-old Great Market Hall, where you can taste
Hungarian goose liver, salami, paprika, wine and spirit specialties, all of them known as “Hungaricums”.
From the bustling atmosphere of the market we will have a short visit to the Korda Film Studio in Etyek.
Sir Alexander Korda, the world famous director and motion picture guru, was born in Hungary. In the
Studio you will have a chance to experience the visual tricks and see the sets of the streets of New York as
well as a medieval city. Th e last stop on the tour is to taste high quality local food and wines.

Monday, 14th September 2015
Th is bus excursion takes us to one of the most beautiful
and popular regions of Hungary, the Danube bend,
where the river forces its way through the steep hills
in a narrow curve to reach Budapest. Th e fi rst stop
will be in Visegrád. In the distillery we off er diff erent
varieties of pálinka, the special Hungarian spirit made
of fruits. Aft er this we’ll enjoy the wonderful view of
the river, followed by a well-deserved lunch.
Th e next stop is Esztergom,
visiting the Christian
Museum and the Library
of the Th eological College
in the St. Adalbert Center.
Dinner is planned at the
Primás Wine Cellar under
the Cathedral.
Tuesday, 15th September 2015
Another full-day bus excursion to the world-
famous Herend Porcelain Manufactory,
approx. a 90-minute drive from Budapest. You
will see how the beautiful pieces of porcelain are
made. Lunch will be served in the Manufactory’s
very own Apicius Restaurant, where the dishes
are served on Herend plates.
Driving further on to the western region we reach the thousand-year-
old Pannonhalma Abbey. In 1996, Pannonhalma was included among
UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. During our visit, we will stroll through the
centuries-old church, the crypt and the cloisters, and will be able to admire
the beautiful collection of 400,000 volumes of the impressive Library. As
the Abbey pays special attention to culinary treats, it will be a special event
to have dinner and taste the delicious local wine selection in the Viator
Restaurant.
