Lon will graduate summer 1982 in ResourceManagement, with a minor in Multiple-UseForestry. He worked in urban-forestry for hissummer internship. Lon attended summer camp inMontana in 1980. HeJs been a member for ForestryClub, and has been activeinVeisheaandintramuralbroomball. He is originally from Davenport, Iowa.

Barbwill graduate in May of1982withadegreeinForest Management and a minor in Multiple-UseForestry. She attended summer camp in 1979 atLubrecht, Montana. Barb has worked for the ForestService for three years. In 1979 she worked for treebetterment in Montana, and in 1980 she worked ona bush crewatldahoRed lvesRangeDistrict. ln1981she was a cruiser at Spearfish Range, South Dakota.Barb has been a member of the Ames Forester staffand was secretary of the Forestry Club for one year.She also enjoys intramural broomball. BarbJshometown is Ute, Iowa. Her post-graduation plansinclude marriage in November, and then possible

graduate study. ln her spare time, Barb enjoysprivate flying, playing the guitar and piano, reading,and photogrametry.

Bill went to summer camp in Missoula, Montanain 1979. Hewill graduate in May, l982with adegreein Resource Managemen, and a minor in soil andWater Management. For ,hree years he worked as alaborer jn concrete and masonry construction in hishometown of Glenwood, Iowa. Then, in 1981 Billworked at the Red 'ves Ranger Station in Avery,Iowa on a brush disposal and fire crew. His collegeactivities include Forestry CIub, the 1981 Mid-western Foresters Conclave, and being vice-

president and house manager of phi Kappa TauFraternity. After graduation Bill will probably returnto Red lves to be a member of a timber crew. Afterthat he hopes to find a permanent position in forestresource management.

Annette is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She will

graduate in May, 1982 with a degree in ForestProduc,s and a minor in Industrial Engineering. Shea,tended summer camp in 1980 in Montana. Duringher years at college Annette was on the RHWCommi,tee, she is a littlesisatThetaXi,a memberofFPRS and Forestry Club, and is a resident assis,antfor the TRA. After gradua,ion she hopes to work inthe forest products industry.

Dan graduated in December,1981, with a doublemajor in Forestry and Pest Management. Heattended summer camp in Missoula, Montana, in1979. ln 1980 he worked as a tree inspector inMinneaspolis, Minnesota. His hometown isRoanoke, Virginia. Dan was a member of thehockey team for four years here at Iowa state. Henow looks forward to a career with Elanco Chemicalcompany, where he wil\l work in the marketing oftheir range management products.

Linda attended Lubrecht Forestry Camp in 1980.She worked at the Toketes Ranger Station nearCrater Lake Oregon for four summers from 1978 to1981. She will graduate fall of 1982 with a degree inForest Management and a minor in Forest Biology.Linda's college activitI'eS include intramural softballand volleyball, the forestry Veishea display, theforester's conclaves in 1980 and 198l and Christmastree sales in 1980 and 1981. She was also secretaryand vice-president of the Forestry Club and amember of the Ames Forester staff. After gradua-tion she would like to start working in the silvi-culture department for the Forest Service. A job inprivate industry is also a possibility. Linda isoriginally from Des Moines, Iowa.

Jim attended summer camp at Greenough,Montana in l980. He worked for the BradenForestry Service in South Dakota in 1981. He has alsoworked on thinning and inventory contracts for theU.S. Forest Service and private landowners. Jim will

graduate in May of l982 in Forest Products with aminor in Agricultural Mechanization+ His home-town is Toms River, New Jersey. His collegeactivities include being past treasurer and presidentof the Iowa State Lacrosse Club and being a mem-ber of the Sports ClubCouncil. He alsoenjoys intra-mural sports. After graduation he will seek a careerin composite products and the utilization of lowgrade hardwoods. Graduate school is also apossibil ity.

chum-Hone will graduate May, 1982, in Woodproducts. He attended summer camp in Taiwan in1978. ln 1977 he worked at a furnituremanufacturing plant in Taiwan where he adjustedand maintained woodworking machines. Duringhis college career he has participated in collegiate

photography and the fishing association. He is also amember of the coin collectors club. Aftergraduation Chum-Hong will either continue hiseducation at graduate school, or he will return toTaiwan and join a wood industry. He is originallyfrom Taichung, Taiwan. He says he has enjoyedIowa State and will remember his fellow classmatesin forestry.

SI,elly attended summer camp in Montana in1978. She will graduate in May of 1982 in ForestManagement with a minor in Biology/Silviculture.she is originally from Dubuque, Iowa. Shellyworked for the Forest Service at Tahoe NationalForest in California in 1979 and 1980. She thenworked as a weyerhaeuser intern in Oklahoma in1981. There she studied seedling survival related tovelpar grass control spray. During the collegecareer shelley has been a three-year member oftheForestry Club. She received the Keith Bower Awardin 1979 and has also been a member Of Si Sigma Pi.she is active in the Karate Club and has done tissueculture work here at the University. Aftergraduation Shelly hopes to work for a privateconsultant, and industry, or the Forest Service inforest management. Her favorite pastimes includehorseback riding, skiing and wood carving. She isalso an orange belt in Ti Kwon Do.

John is from Apple Valley, Minnesota. Heattended Lubrecht Forestry Camp in 1980. John will

graduate in May of 1982 with a degree in ForestProducts and a minor in Industrial Engineering.ohn has worked at Sutherland Lumber Company

since December 1981. He worked in the building

products department waiting on customers,answering their questions, and advising them onthe best way to accomplish their objectives. After

graduation, ,ohn would like to get a job dealingwith quality control, production supervision, ordrying at either a sawmill or composite plant.

EI'iC attended Summer Camp at Greenough,Montana in 1979. 'n 1980 he worked at the IdahoPanhandle National Forest where hewas a memberof a resource crew. Here he prepared areas of seed-tree harvests for prescribed burns, built fire lines,burned brush and cleared streams. He is a memberof both Xi Sigma Pi and the Society of AmericanForesters. Erie will graduate May,1982, in ResourceManagement with a minor in Agronomy. After

graduation he and hiswifewould liketowork inthewest, but they hope to eventually settle in themidwest. Erie is originally from Bettendorf, Iowa.His hobbies include playing the banjo,backpacking, hunting and canoeing.

Becky is from Perry, Iowa. She will graduate lnspring of 1982 in Forest Management with a minorin Occupational Safety. She attended sllmmer Campin Montana in 1977. ln 1978 she was a YCC crewleader in Missouri. After graduation Becky plans towork at a forestry related job jn occupational safety.Throughout college she has been active inintramural sports. She also enjoys running, readingand swimming.

Michael, an Ames resident, will graduate in May,1982 with a degree in Forest Recreation. Heatttended summer campatMontanain1978. ln 1978and l980 Michael worked on fire and trail crews forthe Forest Service in Montana. Also, in 1980 and1981 heworkedwiththeArmyCorpsofEngineersatSaylorville Lake here in Iowa. Michael enjoyshunting, fishing, and backpacking. After graduationhe will work as a park technician forthe lowacorpsof Engineers.

Jim attended summer camp at Greenough,Montana in l979. ln 1980 and l981 he worked as asalesman for ,ewett Lumber Company in DesMoines, where he was involved incustomer/contractor sales and estimating. Jim will

graduate May of 1982 in Forest Products with aminor in Business Administration. His post

graduation plans include employment in theproducts field. He has accepted a job offer fromPayless Cashways for a manager trainee position inDes Moines. During college ,im was activelyinvolved in intramural sports. His hometown is DesMoines, Iowa.

Frankwill graduate summer of1982with adegreein wood products and a minor in BusinessAdministration. He attended summer camp atMissoula, Montana in 1980. His summer workexperience consisted of a roofing and construction

job in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Frank is fromPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduation he

plans towork inthewest,preferablyatajobinsales.Hls favorite pastimes include playingthe guitarandhiking. he also enjoys motorcycles.

private ranch at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. hercollege activities include participation in ResidenceHall week, Forestry Club and intramural sports.After graduation Pam intends to plan and designrecreation areas or programs in the west. Herleisure activities include backpacking, camping andwhite water rafting. she is originally fromBurlington, Iowa.

He attendedLubrecht forestry Camp in 1980. ln l981 Danaworked at land management for the Silas B. MasonCo., Inc. Iowa Army Ammuni'ions Plant,Middletown, Iowa. His college activities includeintramural basketball, membership in Xi Sigma Pi,and working for the University Rec Service for twoyears. After grad'uation he hopes to work for aprivate forestry firm in silvicul,ure/geneticsresearch. DanaJs hobbies include backpacking,skiing and golf. He was also a member of the HighSchool Athletic Department as a basketballofficiate.

Her college activities include athree-year membership in the Forestry Club. Shehas been editor of the ^mes Forester for ,wo years,and secretary and social chairman of her dormfloor, Jody was involved with seedling sales duringVeishea and also participated in intramural softball.A May wedding is planned for ,ody, afterwhich shewill pursue a job in Recreation.

Dayid is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He will

graduate in spring, 1982, with a degree in ForestManagement. He attended summer camp in 1980 inMontana. ln 1979 David was a YCC group leader atthe Boundary Waters, and in 1980 he was a privatecanoe guide there. He was a Weyerhaeuser internin 1981. David's college activities includememberships in the Forestry CIub, the Ad Council,and th RCA Parking Committee. He is also amember of Xi Sigma Pi, Phi Kappa Phi and SAP. He isac,jve in intramural sports, has been vI'Ce Presidentof his dorm floor, and is a membe; of the EnergyConservation Force. His hobbies include reading,running, backpacking, and canoeing. After

graduation David plans to work in industry.

Kelley attended summer camp in 1982 atGreenough, Montana. ln 1980 she worked as aforest pathology intern at the North Central ForestExperiment Station in St. Paul, Minnesota. ln l981she worked for weyerhaeuser a, wright city,Oklahoma as a science and engineering interndoing regeneration research. She is a member ofXiSigma Pi and Phj Kappa Phj, and is a studentmember of SAF. Kelley will graduate spring of 1982in Resource and Pest Management. Aftergraduation she plans toattend graduateschool andeventually do research in tree physiology or

genetics. Her hometown is Monroe City, Indiana.

Mike is from Burlington, Iowa. Hewjll graduate inMay, 1982 with a major in Forest Products and aminor in Industrial Engineering. He attendedLubrecht Forestry Camp in 1979. Mike has workedat Deerlodge National Forest on trail constructionand timber sale preparation for three years. Mike'scollege activities included being a member of thelSU Forestry Club, a member of the weightljftingClub, and a member of the Judo Club. His post

graduation plans include working out west in aforest products industry in human resourcemanagement, quality control or sales. He enjoyscamping backpacking, canoeing, backgammon,

photography, and woodworking.

Scottgraduated in December,1981,with adoublemajor in Forest Resource Management and PestManagement. He attended summer camp inGreenough, Montana in l978. Sco,t has worked as afirefjghter and member of a hele talk crew at LoloNational Forest. ln 1980 he was part of a forestentomology crew in St. Paul, Minnesota, where hesurveyed for Saratoga, Spittlebug and Spruce bud-worm. Scott is from Merrick, New York. His post

graduation plans include graduate school at theUniversity of Arkansas and future work in pestcontrol.

Mal'k is from Mason City, Iowa. He will graduatein May of l982 with a degree in ForestManagementand a minor in Multiple-Use Forestry. He attendedsummer camp in Montana in 1979. During thewinter of 1978 Mark worked for the IowaConservation Commission at Stevens State Forest.ln the summer of l980 he worked for the ForestService as a crew supervisor at Mark Twain NationalForest in Missouri, and in 1981 he was employedthere by the Forest Service as atimber marker. Markhas been a member of the Forestry Club for four

years. Mark is a certified scuba diver and enjoysother water sports. Upon graduation he intends towork as an executive officer on the ccc here in Iowa.

Chris went to Lubrecht Forestry Camp in 1979. ln1980 and 1981, Chris worked at Fremont NationalForest, Paisley Range District, Oregon. His job in-eluded work in tree improvement, animal damagecontrol, and silviculture. As a student, Chris is amember ofXj Sigma Pi forestry honor fraternity, andof Phi Kappa Phi. He is also involved attheCatholicStudent Center, teaches high school religionclasses, and is a retreat team member at St. ThomasAquinas. His hometown is LeMars, Iowa. He will

graduate in spring 1982 with a double major inForest Biology and Environmental Studies. Heeven-tually plans to attend graduate school and studyforest ecology and sjlviculture. christ favorite pas-ti-mes include hunting, fly-fishing, biking, back-

packing, and swimming. He also enjoys art andmusic.

Baden-Wuerttemberg State Forest Service as alogging crew worker. There he assisted in the fellingand limbingoftrees, surveying, site preparation androad maintenance. His college activities includeHomecoming and Campus Chest CentralCommittees, the Mortarboard National HonorSociety, Xi Sigma Pi, the YMCA Big PALS Programand the Forestry Club. After graduation ,im wouldlike to work with a private industry in the area ofnatural resource management planning.

Duane is originally from Palmer, Iowa. He

graduated in December,1981, with a major jn bothForest and Pest Management. He attended summercamp in Greenough, Montana in 1979, and alsoworked on a thinning crew in ovando, Montanathat same year. ln 19co he worked for the City of DesMoines Forestry Division as a tree scout for DutchElm Disease and Oak Wilt and, in l980, for lSUForestry Extension as a Forestry Technician inHopkinton, Iowa. During his college career, Duanewas a member of the Forestry Club, and an activemember of intramural softball. He also likes to playthe guitar and draw. As for the future, Duane hopesto become a consulting forester in woodlandmanagement, specializing jn integrated pestmanagement.

^l is from Council Bluffs, Iowa, He will graduatein May, 1982, in Forest Management. ln 1979 heattended summer camp in Montana and thenworked as a brush disposal and fire crew member jnPotlatch, Idaho. The following two years hereturned to Po,latch as a fire crew foreman and firedispatcher. AI has been a Forestry Club member forfour and a half years, an SAF member three years,and an Ag Council Representa,ive for two years. Hewas a christmas tree sales chairman for two yearsand member of the ISu Mountaineering Club forone year. He was a ,eacher's assistant for anexperimental ROTC rockclimbing class, and themaster of ceremonies at the spring game banquet.Other college activities include being dorm housesocial chairman, writing the christmas tree sales

planning manual which is presently in use, workingin a dorm post office for three years, working as aresearch lab assistan,, intramural athletics, andbeing chairman of several extension forestrydisplays. Al is planning on a career in firemanagement and hopes to even,ually be a firemanagement officer.
