Access, Extraction and Stacking:
The B8000 is a consultation route with a Timber Transport Management Plan in place restricting haulage to 10 loads per day, April - October only. Note this limit applies to all timber haulage on the B8000 and not just to this property, so the Purchaser will need wider discussion with neighbouring properties to ensure the TTMP rules are being complied with. Link to the agreed TTMP: https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/sites/default/files/TTMPs/TTMP%20B8000%20Otter%20Ferry%20Portavadie%20THR%20%28002%29.pdf Haulage will need to stop by 31 October 2020 and cannot recommence until 1 April 2021. No timber is to be left felled but not dispatched on 31 October 2020. The Purchaser will be required to notify and agree final haulage plans with Argyll & Bute Council and the Argyll Timber Transport Group in advance of starting work. The Seller will be constructing approx. 475m of new forest haulage road within Cpt 102, at the seller’s cost. The Purchaser will be required to fell and remove timber from this line at the start of the contract to allow the Seller access with machinery to construct the new road. Until the new road is constructed all timber is to be stacked adjacent to the existing road.
Hazards: Hazards are detailed on the attached plan. For timber located in close proximity to the
overhead electricity line, it is recommended consultation with SSE takes place at the start of the contract.
Forest Plan Ref: Felling permission is granted under two separate LTFP’s:
4389644 (Ardgaddan Barr) and 4463500 (Lindsaig) Reporting: The purchaser is required to report monthly to GHAM and a copy of the report
template is available on request. The report will require the date, delivery number and tonnes of each load in a spreadsheet format. GHAM will expect to be able to obtain copies of all weight tickets at any point during the contract.
Felling: All conifers in the sale area should be felled unless instructed by the woodland manager. All material above 5cm diameter is to be removed from the site by the Purchaser. Conifer stumps are not required to be treated with urea.
Brash: Brash is to be kept clear of all watercourses during the felling operations. Purchasers
should state their proposals for leaving the site clear and ready for replanting following discussion with the woodland manager and brash should be cut into lengths of less than 2 metres.
Payment: Payment terms are to be on a monthly basis with the Purchaser producing self billing
invoices based on weight tickets or as otherwise agreed between the parties. A down payment may be payable before entry and offset against the penultimate payment, or as otherwise agreed between the parties.
Contract: An Agreement will be required to be signed by both parties. A copy is available on
request. Although the vendor intends to sell the timber, the vendor will not be bound to accept the highest or any other offer.
Viewing: The timber may be viewed at any reasonable time during daylight hours, as long as a
copy of this document is carried. Please contact the woodland manager to arrange a viewing.
