liberal gov’t reforms in Eastern Bloc• After Dubcek refuses to stop

liberalization– flown to Moscow– publicly force to “knuckle under”

• Prague Spring led to “Brezhnev Doctrine”- Soviets and allies have right to intervene in any socialist country whenever they see cause.
