1. UPS Optimization

Saving on Energy and Space by decommissioning of Tower B Data Centre by running
all Infrastructure Services from a centralized data centre in Tower A for the entire
Campus.
Result :
UPS energy Saving = 3,91,574 kWh/Year
HVAC energy Saving = 4,38,000 kWh/Year
Total energy saving = 8,29,574 kWh/Year
Total reduction in carbon foot print = 437185 kg
Area saving = 4,000 Sq.ft
Additional Seats = 130Seats
Decommissioned UPS = 2 X 300 kVA
Decommissioned PAC = 6 x 25 TR & 2 x 16 TR

Set point for chillers are manually controlled based on ambient condition. Automatic treated Fresh Air flow regulated based on CO2 level. Automatic Scheduling for AHUs and Ventilation fans. De- scaling of water cooled condenser tube and cleaning of air cooled condensers. Chemical Treatment for make up water. Cleaning of Air filters in AHUs. Cleaning of strainers Timers for external & MLCP lighting

As per corporate initiative, celebrating earth hour on last Saturday of every month. Saving FY 2016-17 – 3,300 kWh, equivalent Carbon – 1739 KG

Conducted Energy Audit through Autonomous body “Kerala State Productivity Council”
Conducted sales expo of LED lamps for associates at a discounted (20%) market rate to
promote energy saving practice as part of TCS sustainability month. Approximate sale
crossed 7000 Nos.
NO ‘C’ Fold Week – Celebrating on last week of every month.
Training/Awareness program to O&M team through external experts.
Celebrating energy conservation day.
As part of Energy Sustainability month, following events were carried out,
a) Wealth out of Waste
b) Quiz programs
c) Painting competition on water conservation for children of employees, aimed at
creating awareness on the subject from the childhood onwards.

UTILIZATION OF WASTE MATERIAL
1) Bio digester Plant - Capacity 1500 KPDApproximately 45m3 of Bio gas is produced per day which is equivalent to 7 commercial gas cylinders
2) Vermi compost PlantVermi composting plant crushing machine capacity - 1000 KG per Day.
3) Sewage Treatment Plant 700 KLDTreated Water using for Flushing and gardening ,Sludge generated is used as manure
4) Plastic Bottle Crusher UnitPlastic bottles are crushed by crusher at campus and is disposed through licensed vendor for recycling
5) Paper RecycleShredded paper are disposed to authorized vendor and supply note pad, tissue paper in return.
6) E-Waste & Hazardous WasteDisposed through authorized vendor.
