September is springtime and there are a number of events planned for that time to draw the Churches attention to the need for a greater environmental awareness of the world in which we live. We are guardians of this treasure that is the Earth, given to us from God, and our mission is to ensure that we are NOT the last people who benefit from this treasure. Our role is to care for the earth so that future generations can enjoy this great gift of life and wonder that God has given to us. In the days that are ahead, I will endeavour to provide the parish with the various events that are planned by the Laudato Si planning Group within the Archdiocese. At the same time, it may be important for us to reflect upon how our lives and our own actions impact upon the health of our world. What we are doing to perhaps heal the world, or what are we doing that may damage our fragile earth on which we depend for life. The current Pacific leaders Forum on Tuvalu Island is asking the Australian people through our Prime Minister, attending that Forum, what are we doing to prevent the damaging rising ocean levels that are swamping their Island Countries. This is a question for the Political leaders of Countries like Australia, but it may also be something that we can also wonder about in our own small corner of the world. We may not make a difference by our decisions, but we can still choose to care for the earth on which we live and on which we depend. Laudato Sithe Pope’s Letter - can be a wake-up call for us to begin to do something. What do we do as individuals, as a parish Community, and as a Church in the Logan Region. The decision sits with us. God bless, Fr John ARCHDIOCESAN EVENTS. This Tuesday I have my Archdiocesan Meeting from 9:00am until 5:00pm. Ministry Matters PLENARY COUNCIL 2020

Missionary and Evangelising;

In the midst of the Plenary Council planning, our Archdiocese has also picked up on the Pope’s Encyclical, Laudato Si, (Care for the Earth). September is springtime and there are a number of events planned for that time to draw the Churches attention to the need for a greater environmental awareness of the world in which we live. We may not make a difference by our decisions, but we can still choose to care for the earth on which we live and on which we depend. Laudato Si—the Pope’s Letter -can be a wake-up call for us to begin to do something. What do we do as individuals, as a parish Community, and as a Church in the Logan Region.
