Open Resources in Today's Classroom 10:00 AM 10:50 AM 223 Hughes Hall

TED Talk

The textbooks of today are an entirely different instrument than they were just a few years ago. But even so, what happens when the textbook doesn’t meet the needs of the class, the students, changing expectations, or current events? eSourcing, (or open sourcing) your curriculum allows for freedom to differentiate instruction, use of current events as teaching tools, provides instruction that is deeper, richer, more personal and meaningful, and can also help your district financially. Teaching with multiple resources in a project-based environment mimics the real world and how students will search for information as adults.
