1. I will be a good sports enthusiast. I recognize that peoplejudge all snowmobile owners by my actions. I will use myinfluence with other snowmobile owners to promote fairconduct.
2. I will not litter on trails or camping areas. I will not pollutelakes or streams.
3. I will not damage living trees, shrubs, or other natural fea-tures. I will go out only when there is sufficient snow sothat I will not damage the land.
4. I will respect other people’s property and rights.5. I will lend a helping hand when I see someone in distress.6. I will make myself and my vehicle available to assist
search and rescue parties.7. I will not interfere with or harass hikers, skiers, snow-
shoers, ice anglers, or other winter sports enthusiasts. Iwill respect their rights to enjoy our recreation facilities.
8. I will know and obey all federal, state/provincial and localrules regulating the operation of snowmobiles in areaswhere I use my vehicle. I will inform officials when usingpublic lands.
9. I will not harass wildlife. I will avoid areas posted for theprotection or feeding of wildlife.
10. I will stay on marked trails or marked roads open to snow-mobiles. I will not snowmobile where prohibited.

1. Streets and alleys are to be used ONLY in travelingenroute to the river and/or open country, using the mostdirect route. If more than one machine, ride in single fileon the right hand side of the roadway.
2. RESPECT PRIVATE PROPERTY.3. NO: Speed greater than reasonable or prudent under all
circumstances.NO: Careless, reckless, or negligent driving which mayharm or injure a person or property.NO: Operating while under the influence of an intoxicatingliquor or narcotic or habit-forming drug.NO: Riding permitted on any State Highway, County StateAid, or County Highway. Crossing of these roads is onlyauthorized by qualified persons and at a 90 degree angle.State Highways, County State Aid and County Highways inThief River Falls are as follows: Hwy. 59 or 3rd St. throughthe City, Hwy. 32 or Main Ave. N. to S. through the City,Hwy. 1 or East 8th St. from E. of Main Ave. to E. City Limits,Penn. Ave. from 1st St. to South Limits, 1st St. East to Westthrough City Limits, 6th St. from Main Ave. to West Limits.NO RIDING PERMITTED ON ANY OF THESE STREETS.
4. No person under 14 years of age shall make a directcrossing of a trunk, county state aid, or county highway asthe operator of a snowmobile, or operate a snowmobileupon a street or highway within a municipality. A person14 years of age or older, but less than 18 years of age, maymake a direct crossing of a trunk, county state aid, orcounty highway only if he has in his immediate possessiona valid snowmobile safety certificate issued by the com-missioners or a valid driver's license. No person under theage of 14 years shall operate a snowmobile on any publicland or water under the jurisdiction of the commissionerunless accompanied by one of the following listed per-sons on the same or an accompanying snowmobile, or ona device towed by the same or an accompanying snow-mobile: his parent, legal guardian, or other person 18years of age or older. However, a person 12 years of ageor older may operate a snowmobile on public lands andwaters under the jurisdiction of the commissioner if hehas in his immediate possession a valid snowmobile safe-ty certificate issued by the commissioner.
5. LIGHTS: Head and tail lights must be on BOTH DAY ANDNIGHT to operate on public streets and alleys.
6. SPEED LIMIT: 15 MPH on streets and alleys.7. TOWING: Rigid connection ONLY (no ropes).8. RIDERS: Two (2) only. This includes driver.9. PARKS: No riding in parks.10. MUFFLERS: Must be installed and in good working order.11. Snowmobiles must yield right-of-way to all pedestrians
and motor vehicles.12. NO: Riding on sidewalks, private property, or where pro-
hibited by signs.13. No riding in the downtown business district of Thief River
Falls. This is the area between 1st Street and 4th Street,and between Knight Ave. and Atlantic Ave. NO RIDING INTHIS AREA.
