Digital Storage Media:

The backup medias such as CD and DVD seems to have a great role on the computerized working style. The problem with the conventional filing job remains nearly the same here. You have to give proper names to your files and CDs, place them into whatever you use according to a system. Otherwise spending hours just to find a file in a CD may take hours.

Piles of CDs are all around my computer. They do not only protect the things Iburn into them, they also protect the data from me!

If anything can be said to be Affective that thing surely has two properties:

-it has some effect-The effect has something to do with emotions

“That was the most affective song that I heard.”

Sentence can be read as the singer expressing his feelings well or as the song is effecting the listener in an emotional way.

I had a new computer and even while I wasn’t working with it sang me songs. But my amplifiers were old and worn so I decided to find and buy cool piece of equipment for my digital jukebox.

The pieces I found were great yet I bought a very standard set because the prices of these stereo appliances far beyond their aesthetics.

Italian verb Portare means to carry and English adjective Portable means capable of being carried.

Turkish Taşınabilir (for me) means probably worth to carry around.

I did not own a laptop yet. But it comes to me that with every passing day my PC roots itself more and more to the ground (with every new cable I plug) while Laptops are getting lighter and more compact and traveling around like pigeons. So I am running out of my patience to buy a Laptop yet the only thing that holds me is that I ran out of money.

Sharing things is the essence of every social relation. Me and my housemate share the same table for dining. Use the same kitchen and bathroom.

We have one TV. When we both wish to watch TV at the same time sharing the “ownership” of the TV alters into the sharing of the “usage” of TV. Because the functionality is the real reason that we own that TV, it would be appropriate to tell what we really share is watching the TV.

As a fan of renewable energy sources, I loved this article and it changed my visions on the subject.

These printable strip cells are said to be cheap, easy to produce, more efficient, lightweight and flexible but they are extremely harmed by oxygen.

The way they will be mainly used in the near future seems to be the mobile applications. Recharging laptops and cell phones by the strips of solar cells printed on our bags, clothes or on the devices themselves seems very possible.

However the possibility of energy generation for domestic or urban use is still a mystery. It is said that houses can be painted with these solar cells but the aesthetic and the climatic points seem to be missed in the avalanche of optimism.

With all those advantages, opportunities and very few disadvantages, the printable solar cells promises a revolution in the energy market.

Public space always lacks some modern art. And modern batteries tend to run out when you desperately need them. The common ground of these problems give birth to the Solar Sculpture.

Solar Sculptures are solar cell painted art, placed by geographical consciousness of sun. They generate electricity and store it in a battery embedded within. Any citizen can use this free electric source while enjoying the elegant and refined pieces of art.

Another alternative is solar graffiti. (which would find its way with the sculptures around)

Portable Projectors

Projectors are widely used in today’s working and teaching environments but tomorrow it seems that they will have many other interesting applications.

The mobile computing appliances (laptops, PDAs etc.) carry out great computing feats but they lack the monitoring size. The solution lies in the future’s miniaturized projectors which will use any surface at hand to display images.

However the surface that you project on matters. The color and the geometry of the surface affects the image you will get. In order to overcome this researchers attach a camera (Super scanner) to the system to compensate the distortions and color differences.

The great couple of portable projectors and scanners offer their possibilities such as stock control. However the main advantage that I see is to catch a XL display even with a PDA.
