Legal restrictions on advertising of abortions

July 2011: President Medvedev signed the Law containing restrictions

for advertising of abortions in the media. The Minister of Health has signed an

Agreement with the Russian Orthodox Church where the issues concerning

abortions are the milestones.

Social indications for abortion (second trimester)

•  14 social indications before 2003 (4 after) •  On Feb 6th, 2012, the Russian

Government issued a Decree on the Social Ground for Artificial Termination of Pregnancy. The Decree was signed by the former Prime-Minister Mr. Vladimir Putin.

•  This Decree establishes that the only social ground for abortion is rape.
