RACHEL’S VINEYARD RETREAT WEEKEND ~ If you are silently grieving or suffering from an abortion, experience the healing love of Jesus Christ on a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat. The weekend healing process is confidential and offers an opportunity to experience God’s love, forgiveness and compassion. It includes discussions, Living Scriptures with meditations, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a Memorial Service and Mass of Entrustment. The next weekend in Connecticut is June 8-10. There will be a chicken barbecue at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 64 Providence Street, Putnam, on Saturday, May 19, from 5:00 to 7:00 p. m. Fifteen dollars per person buys half a barbecued chicken, a whole baked potato, roll and coffee or tea. Eat in or take out. Proceeds benefit the Boy Scout Troop 21 Summer Camp Fund. Catholic Men’s Group. Our area Catholic Men’s Group has two more meetings before its annual summer hiatus. Our last regular meeting will be at 7:30 AM next Saturday, May 5th. Then, on Saturday, May 19th we will meet in the St. Mary’s Parish Center parking lot in Putnam, then head to a local restaurant for breakfast, fellowship and discussion of topics for next year’s meetings. Our regular bi-weekly meetings will resume in September. Please pass the word, invite some friends, and join us on May 5th and/or May 19th.

The Catholic Family Services Office is sponsoring a Divorce Healing Program entitled The Catholic’s Divorce Survival Guide. This is a 12-session DVD ministry program with expertise from Catholic psychologists, theologians and spiritual directors. It is based on the teachings of the Catholic Church. The group will meet from 7-8:30 P.M. the second and fourth Mondays of each month beginning April 9 through September 24 at St. Matthew Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT. The St. Joseph Pro-Life Ministry will gather for it’s monthly recitation of the Holy Rosary at St Mary’s Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Putnam on the second Sunday of the month from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The next gathering for prayer will be on Sunday, May 13th. Please join our parish in prayer to end abortion.

Summer Youth Conference – You can still get in! The Steubenville East High School Youth Confer-ence is scheduled for July 13-15 at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, MA. Crossroads Youth Group has reserved 35 spaces and we still have a couple openings. Time is running out, but if more teens are interested we’ll purchase more spots for the weekend. The cost to attend with our group is $150.00, which includes the conference fee, meals, lodging, Crossroads t-shirt and bus transportation to and from the conference. The monthly Diocesan Pro-Life Mass will take place at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 70 W. Main St., Baltic, on Saturday, May 5, at 8 A.M. Please join our celebrant Rev.
