Vacy Public School Newsletter Newsletter Vacy Public School 18 December 2019 Term 4 Week 10 A message from the Principal Thank you for attending our Presentation Day Assembly last Friday. It was lovely to see so many parents there supporting the achievements of the Vacy School community. Congratulations to each and every one of our award recipients. In saying that, we are very proud of all of our students and the commitment they have to their learning and our staff thank them all for their determination to improve this year. After reading 113 reports last week I am more than pleased with the progress that every individual has made throughout the year and I hope that our students continue to grow in confidence and competence again in 2020 under the guidance of our expert staff. During the holidays we will be having some renovations done to the school. Our side fence is being replaced and our administration building will be getting a new roof. As this old building contains some lead, you may see the workers in white protective suits. Please dont be alarmed. There is absolutely no danger to the community. The work is due to commence on 14th January and should be completed by the 19th. Throughout the holiday period no one is permitted to enter the school grounds. After the 20th January you may however, see some staff around planning for the new school year. Congratulations to all of the students who reached Silver and Gold Level in the PBL merit award system. I hope you all enjoy your special lunch and ice-block treat this week. Next year school commences for the students in Years 1-6 on Wednesday 29th January, 2020. The new Kindergarten students will begin on Friday 31 January. Our Best Start testing will take place for our new Kinders on 29-30th January and appointments have already been made. To all of our departing students we all wish you the very best in your future endeavours and we thank you and your families for the contributions you have made throughout your years at Vacy. Thank you to all of the Vacy community for your support throughout 2019. It has been an extremely busy year and one that has had its challenges with the extreme weather and bush fire conditions. I hope that you all keep safe during the holiday season. On behalf of the staff, Id like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and happy New Year and well see you all back next term refreshed and ready to begin another busy and fulfilling year at Vacy School. Kind regards, Karen Fonti Principal
