The event is the largest of its kind endorsed by over 25 law enforcement organizations and over 16 public safety agencies. Participants include community fire departments, emergency medical ser- vices, and many other public service organizations. In addition to free bowling for kids every half hour from 10am to 4pm, there will be K- 9 patrol demos and SWAT team displays as well as dozens of free raffle prizes for great gifts. The event is the kick off for the "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling" program endorsed by twelve police departments in the Bay Area. Over 150,000 kids from 300 schools in the Bay Area got to bowl for free last summer. This year, kids can bowl for free after school starting May first and all summer long. They get to bowl one free game every day. This effort provides kids with a safe environment when they are most at risk. Serra Bowl, Palo Alto Bowl and Bel Mateo Bowl are the sponsor bowling centers for this program. According to Mike Leong, Vice President of Bowling Management Group which man- ages Serra Bowl as well as Palo Alto Bowl and Bel Mateo Bowl in San Mateo, “Kid safety is the goal of this annual event. I am proud to be a part of the bowling commu- nity. We offer kids a safe place to enjoy a sport during their most vulnerable years. In fact, Rex Golobic’s family bowling centers have become legend having introduced kids to the sport of bowling for over 70 years.” Serra Bowl is located at 3301 Junipero Serra Blvd in Daly City (across from Colma BART station).
