The Cross

� Next week we celebrate the feast of the cross and this is in rememberance of discovering Jesus Christ Cross by the queen Heelana, the blessing of this feast shall be with you all.

� The cross is the symbol of Christianity and in the cross there are many

Contradictions, the enemy of the cross see it as a weak and disgrace cross,

they see in it a cross of shame and it is for the unbeliever, our teacher St.

Paul say: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish

foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

� For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, why is

the preaching of the cross for the unbelievers foolishness while the believer

see it as the power of God. In the mind of human it is foolishness not to

defend oneself and this was what Jesus Christ did in His trial He was silent

so Pilate told Him: And went again into the judgment hall, and said

unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer. Then

said Pilate unto him, Speaks thou not unto me? Knows thou not that I

have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? Jesus

answered; Thou could have no power at all against me, except it was

given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath

the greater sin.(John 19)

� Pilate wanted to free Jesus but Jesus Christ did not give him this chance, is

it was wise not to defend Himself? Of course not! In the humans mind, but

if Jesus Christ defended Himself He would be justified No one can argue

with Him He said : Which of you convinced me of sin? And if He was

judged not guilty He would not be crucified and there will be no salvation

and this shall be the foolishness: For the preaching of the cross is to them

that perish foolishness (1cor1:18).

� Jesus Christ died on the cross to give us the eternal life but He asked us to

hold the cross and follow Him as St Paul said in the book of Romans to if

so is that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

� It is true my beloved it is a very wonder cross which show the power and

the wisdom of God and through it every one can be save and without the

cross there is eternal death.

CHURCH NEWS

1. Bishop Bssada blessed us last Friday in the Holly Liturgy.

2. The Meeting of the Beloved St. John will be held next Tuesday.

3. The church will held Hol y Liturgies for the feast of the Cross next Thursday, Friday and Saturday and the church wishes you all happy feast.

4. The church congratulates her children who were ordained deacons by His grace bishop Bissada, and wishes for them growth in grace. Remon Ayman+ Karim( kirollos) Mikaeil+ Abanoub Ayman+ Mina Ayman

5. The church will held 3 days of fasting and pray for the church and for the selection of the new pope . 1, 2, and 3 of October.

6. His Grace Anba Angelos will meet with the youth today at St. George &St. Josef Church at 5 PM.

Blessed Baptism The church congratulates her beloved Sameh Guirguis and his wife Youstina for the blessed

baptism of their son Mina may the Lord blesses his upbringing and growth.

Blessed Engagement The church congratulates her beloved for the blessed engagement and wishes for them the

completeness of joy by the Holy Matrimony.
