SECURED
Access to individual, unique medication bins, directly connected to a patient or medication
Medication identification
Medication is scanned
before it is handed to the
patient. This is the second
check.
Login to eMAR
The caregiver logs
in to the eMAR
with a password or
employee card.
Correct drawer
If the drawer has an
extra security, a second
employee must identify
themselves.
Patient identificati-on at the patient’s bedside
The patient is identified by
scanning the wrist strap.
Traceable by unique RFID chip in each medication drawer
The link between the patient’s ID and
the specific medication drawer ensures
that each drawer is traceable and
verifiable on any box or cart.
All actions are fully logged.
Access to the medication is only
possible by authorized employees by
doing scheduled and unplanned
(unscheduled) tasks.
Safe and controlled medication administrationThe Individual Lock medication system ensures that medication is safe
and controlled during the (logistic) closed-loop process in the hospi-
tal. With this solution only an authorized employee gets - after iden-
tifying the patient - access to his or her personal medication bin. With
AMiS IL you give certain responsibilities to the right healthcare profes-
sionals, what will guaranteed contribute to the quality and effectivity
of your healthcare!
The Individual Lock medication system connects every patient to a specific patient drawer electronically (in the pharmacy). Then the drawer opens automatically and controlled by identifying the correct patient. The connection (integration) of the medication box and the eMAR software provides full control within the familiar user environment.
Wireless connectionWith the Alphatron Wireless Communication Protocol
(AWCP) users and administrators get wireless access to
the medication box.
A RFID based Nearfield Communicator ensures that data
can be safely transferred between AMiS and the medica-
tion box, without the disturbance caused by the area.
Connection with ImprivataBecause of the Imprivata connection, it is possible to
connect the Individual Lock medication software with
Imprivata Confirm ID™, whereby authorization through
the system is logged and managed.
Full integration in the hospital networkThe Individual Lock medication box communicates within
the hospital network without installation drivers or local
files. The medication box is automatically part of the
CITRIX-session.

Connection with Active DirectoryBecause of the integration with Active Directory users
can easily be imported in the Individual Lock user
module. Through an LDAP connection all users are being
updated. In the user module it is possible to add
a personal PIN code to every AD-user.
• With AMiSconnect integrated to the hospital network
• Wireless connection AMiS computer (AWCP)
• No installation of local drivers and files required
• Supports desktop infrastructures: CITRIX
XenDesktop/XenApp with HDX, VMware Horizon
View with PCoIP, Microsoft App-V and Microsoft
Remote Desktop Services
• Easy management of users with Active Directory
Transport to the department
After dispensing the
medication, the medication
box is transported to the
department. There are
different solutions for
transportation.
Secured drawer
The drawer is placed in any position in the box and
is now secured. Once the medication identification
process is completed, the drawer will remain closed
until the person with the right authentication logs
in.
Medication identification
The prescribed medication is
dispensed in the patient drawer.
The first check is done.
Connect patient or medication to a drawer
By the unique patient’s ID, every patient is
linked to a medication drawer in the phar-
macy. Depending on the amount and/or the
kind of medication, multiple drawers can be
linked. These drawers can also be provided
with an additional authorization (four eyes
principle).
Patient selection
In the eMAR the correct
patient is selected.
Individual Lock (IL): Medication directly at the patient’s bedside, safer than ever
Transport to the pharmacy
The empty drawers
return to the
pharmacy where the
process starts over
again.
Login in eMAR
The pharmacist
(assistant) logs in to
the eMAR with a
password or employee
card.
Closing drawer
The action at the
patient’s bedside is
completed and the
system is released for
the next patient.
Central management
Logging into the application can be done with an ID badge or personal
PIN code. With the correct identification and authorization you get
access to the filling module (assign patients to medication bins)
or the dispensing module (registration of medication after patient
identification).
During the filling process
a medication bin will be
assigned to a patient or
medication.
Additional security can
be added to specific
bins.
