Brethren as we enter the second half of this Masonic year I am confident to inform the Brethren of Crocker Lodge that we continue to achieve progress for the better-ment of our Lodge. We started the year with the creation of our Lodge App, which, I encourage everybody to sign up and join. We have conduct-ed a series of Masonic education that will continue until the end of the year. We’ve had degree confer-rals and contributed and participat-ed in the Grand Lodge programs such as the Masonic charities. We were able to include projects such as beautifying our Lodge halls to Street and Beach clean-up drive. We have shown our-selves that our Lodge is capable of achieving our objectives if we only know how to bridge the gap and learn how to work together by strengthening our time honored cardinal principles. There are still brothers who need to understand and have the willingness to participate and put their best foot forward. The Officers are here to listen. Please don’t hesi-tate to make suggestions or com-

ments that will promote the best our Lodge has to offer. In the second half of our journey we will pass a resolution to increase our membership applica-tion fees without increasing our yearly dues for the benefit of the majority. We are also going to have the 100% Officers Giving. We are looking forward to the selection of the Hiram Award nominees. I would like to involve all the members, from the Past Mas-ters, current Officers to the sidelin-ers in this selection process by sub-mitting names of suggested nomi-nees to me and thru process of elim-ination we will come to the most number of votes. We will adopt a school pro-gram of Marjorie Tobias Elementary School; we will also have a Health Fair specifically Flu Shots in conjunc-tion with Lions Club International on September 24. I encourage and reach out to everyone to support and join our programs. I would like to congratulate the winners of our successful Bil-liards Tournament as well as WB Walter Ancheta for organizing the event. I would also thank the mem-bers who organized and the Families for participating in our District 151 picnic. Special thanks to the mem-bers and CMHA directors who par-ticipated in our Lodge beautification & clean up drive. May the Great Ar-chitect bless us all. Sincerely & Fraternally,

Bro. Carlo S. Chaves Master

On the Level

THE PLUMB RULE Plumb lines and plumb rules are implements used to de-termine a vertical plane, often called plummets in the scriptures. Each depends upon a line from which a heavy plumb bob is sus-pended, so that when hanging freely the line is perpendicular. They are one of the oldest emblems and have the same symbolic interpretation. The plumb is a symbol of truth and rectitude of conduct. It inculcates that integrity of life and undevi-ating course of moral uprightness which alone can distinguish a good and just man. When erecting temporal structures the operative mason pays strict attention to the verti-cal, as determined by the plumb, because any deviation from the upright contributes to instability. So the speculative freemason should be guided by the unerring principles of right and truth sym-

bolized by the plumb, neither suc-cumbing to the pressures of ad-versity nor yielding to the seduc-tions of prosperity. Straight or upright de-notes of someone of honesty and integrity. With reference to an angle that it is formed by a right line or plane perpendicular to an-other right line or plane thus forming an angle of 90°, a right angle. All of these interpreta-tions are represented in the sym-bolism of the plumb rule, which therefore is appropriate as the jewel of the Junior Warden, be-cause it is emblematic of the up-right conduct which should al-ways distinguish the brethren during refreshment when symbol-ically they are under his control. Thus my brethren, re-minds us of the trust we have giv-en to our leaders to run our lodge to the best of their abilities, and to support them to accomplish the goals they have set for the ensuing masonic year. Together, let us look forward to the bright future. Together in Harmony we can accomplish great things.

Fraternally Yours, Miguel F. Jabagat Jr. Senior Warden

Message from the South for June, 2016 Brethren, The monthly stated meeting of June 2, 2016 was coincidental with the Filipino Heritage month of June that lead all of the officers, as well as many of the brothers in attendance, to wear the Fili-pino barong Tagalog, symbol of the male national costume. It was also a good and swift stated meeting with the various committee chairmen making a good re-port. Fellowship followed with the accolades given to our birthday cele-brants for the month of June, notably were Brothers Rollie Ramos, Nick Cru-zata, P.M; and Paul Dela Rosa. One of the celebrants donated a whole “lechon” and wanted to remain incognito, which we respected by not mentioning his name as the donor. June 9, we had a 2nd degree conferral. Brother Perez was passed to the Fellow craft degree which was well attended by the brethren. It was again a meaningful event for the Lodge due to the fact that we had another conferral for this year. Family night on Saturday, June 11 was very well attended. This is the first time it was held in substitution for

Mothers Day and Fathers Day as a com-bined event. The idea was originated by our Master Carlo Chaves, which proved to be very successful. And most im-portantly, was very cost effective since we combined the two events into one general expense. Special thanks to Sister Evelyn who did all the decorations the night before the event. I am also grateful to the ladies that were there to help in the guest registrations, and also helping out by serving and entertaining the Brethren and their family members. To all the officers and members who helped in the preparation and bar-becuing all the various dishs and other ingredients necessary for the menu that night. The motif and ambiance was casu-al instead of the formal coat and tie for men and evening dress for ladies. Food was in “ihaw-ihaw” style that the attendees socialized in a convenient, loose and informal fashion. June 16, another 2nd degree conferral. Brother Ernesto Quiambao was elevated to the Fellow Craft degree. This was our second conferral of the month and was well attend by the Breth-ren. the obligation and lecture were delivered by our Senior Warden, Mike Jabagat. June 25 Lodge Inventory in the morning under the leadership of Brother Walter Ancheta, PM, with the help of the brethren that attended that morning. They finished the inventory like “gangbusters” in no time at all. The counting and final documents, were sub-mitted to him by various departments before 12p.m. Good leadership, Worshipful Walter.

That night, the three pillars Worshipful Carlo Chaves, Mike Jabagat SW, and yours truly along with our Mar-shal Norbert Baraoidan represented our Lodge to the Feasts of Holy Saints John at the San Mateo Lodge. We met with other brothers from various Lodges, plus we learned other Masonic and brotherly rituals practiced by this Lodge on the feasts of Holy Saints John which someday will be part of our Masonic education. This was again initiated by Wor-shipful Carlo Chaves to expose our Lodge to other various Lodges. Reason. To in-troduce our Lodge and surprisingly, most of the other Lodges don’t even know where our Lodge is and if we even exist. Good PR work for the Master. June 30, was brainstorming night headed by Worshipful Carlo and the officers planning for the MGM func-tion to be sponsored by Crocker Lodge next year. This is a very big event with brothers from all over California and other states attending. This will involve major logistical problems that will need the support of all of the Brothers of our Lodge. Worshipful Master Carlo has also enlisted the help of our Lodge Sisters as

By the Plumb…. Continued from page 7…….

it will require all our efforts to bring this event to successful conclusion! July 7, stated meeting was well attended by our brethren and also a brother from New Zealand, Stockton as well as Brethren from across the bay. Special thanks to Brother Rudy Labit who is always available to help, as well as the helping hands of our stewards, Brothers Ramil Garcia and Ben Gomez. As you may have noticed the Lodge has been so active lately with nu-merous Masonic events. Let us continue to support the Master and his projects as we move forward. Reminders: September 28, 2016 Masons for Mitts. A night for fellowship and watch our first place Giants. (Keep your fingers crossed.) Our Crocker Lodge No. 212 is getting much solid and active through the lead-ership of our Master Carlo Chavez. TOGETHER BRETHREN! Sincerely and Fraternally, Renato N. Santos Junior Warden

Stated Meeting, July 7, 2016 with Special Presentation of the Jobs’ Daughter

Billiard Tournament, July 9, 2016
