Dear Parents
This week my Principal’s Report
will be dominated by our success-
ful Fete on Friday night. A fete is
an enormous amount of work not
only on the night but leading up to
the night. Some of our parents
have been working for months
preparing for this evening. We
also required many helpers on the
day to setup, pack up and work on
the stalls. Success doesn’t just
happen, it requires planning and
effort. With this in mind I would
like to thank the following—Elecia
Turner, Jane Murtagh, Michelle
Milthorpe, Ally Irving, Donna
McDonnell, Virginia Mitsch, and
Owen Clarke (Fete Committee).
Also Julie Cotter, Trish Bradley,
Anne Moffat, Lisa Rankin, Shelley
Fruend, Annie Shearer, Rachel
Alexander and Steve Mitsch
(Friends of the Fete).
Thank you also to all the many
parents, partners, grand-parents
and friends who contributed in so
many ways. The generosity of
people was humbling, appreciat-
ed and says a lot about how strong
our school community is here at St
Anne’s. I would like to also thank
our many generous sponsors and
businesses of Albury as their great
support provided us with gifts and
prizes. As you would realise the
more support we receive from
these businesses reduces our ex-
penditure and therefore increases
our profit for the night. We know
that these businesses are often
asked for donations and we are
pleased they were able to choose
to support our school. Thankyou
to everyone who contributed in
any way, you have made a differ-
ence and the money raised will
benefit our students in our school.
We will have the final profit
amount in next week’s newsletter.
The Committee tried some differ-
ent ideas this year and like most
areas of St Anne’s we are looking
at ways we could improve the
Fete. If you have any suggestions
could you please write them down
and give to Tina in the office by
Friday, alternatively please email
them to the office at -
These will then be looked at by
the committee.
Our thoughts and prayers go to
Julie Cotter and her family on the
sad loss of her mother, Shirley
Boyd.
Our final Professional Develop-
ment day for staff will be held on
Monday, 19th November.
Children will not attend school on
this day. I apologise for any
inconvenience caused.
Have a great week

BORDER VILLAGE CHARITY WALK
FROM MELBOURNE TO ALBURY Last month I committed to walk from Melbourne to
Albury to raise money to help build a village for 40
families in the Philippines. They lost their village in
the tsunami. There are 12 walkers leaving
federation square on the 4th November and arriv-
ing back into Albury Wodonga on Saturday the 10th
Nov. On the Saturday we are leaving Chiltern at 7
am and arriving in Wodonga about 12.30 at the
water tower, then leaving there at 1pm to walk
back to Albury QEII square. We would love to get
as many people as possible to walk from Wodonga
to Albury with us for a gold coin donation per
person. For those who would like to challenge
them selves and walk the 33km from Chiltern you
can do this to, please contact me Anne Moffat on
0409225735 or email [email protected].
Please visit our web site http://bordervillage.net/
for the whole story.
