Despite the negative sentiments that continue to shroud the

Indian Real Estate Sector, global investors & developers

continue to favor Real Estate in India as one of their preferred

destinations. Increased influx of money coupled with rising

urbanisation, raised standard of living and increased spending

capacity has helped real estate sector regain its strength after

the recent slump.

The Indian Real Estate Sector – Enormous Potential

THE ECONOMIC TIMESIndia Real Estate Investment Summit:

Innovative Strategies to NavigateThrough the Headwinds

Recogn i z i ng t he s i gn i ficance o f

investment in real estate, we present 'The

Economic Times India Real Estate

Investment Summit' ; which brings

together key stakeholders to deliberate on

the current challenges through multiple

focused panel discussions & interactions.

Woven around the theme of 'Innovative

Strategies to Navigate Through the

Headwinds', this conference aims to

analyse the current trends, share industry

experiences and bring forth insightful

debates that would impact the industry. 'C'

level executives from the leading

organizations shall assess the sector's

course ahead & figure out ways to mitigate

risks & future-proof business profitability.

Also a key derivative from the conference

would be to find ways to combat the

bearish economy while maximising

business potential.

Considering its potential to propel economic growth significantly,

Indian government has introduced series of fiscal and regulatory

reforms to boost developments in the real estate sector. One of

the major reforms seen is liberalised FDI policy permitting 100%

investments through an automatic route. Further, government

has proposed norms to reduce the capitalization for wholly

owned subsidiaries & entrants through JV’s.

Investments in Real Estate

In addition to its concerted efforts to promote growth and meet

funding challenges, SEBI's contemplating the introduction of a

novel investment mechanism – Real Estate Investment Trust

(REIT).

While all these reforms are aimed to tackle the funding

challenges that seem to grapple the real estate sector and limit

its growth, India still needs a focused approach and more

strategic investments before real estate sector can move to the

next level.
