CIHR Institute of Aboriginal Peoples’ Health 16th ANNUAL NATIONAL GATHERING OF GRADUATE STUDENTS IN ABORIGINAL HEALTH RESEARCH June 12 - 14, 2016 University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON Algonquin Territory The Naonal Gathering of Graduate Students in Aboriginal Health Research (NGGS) is an annual meeng for student researchers and graduate students in Indigenous health. The Gathering provides a mentorship and capacity building forum for students, and facilitates student networking opportunies with community and academic researchers. Students will have opportunies to present and discuss their research and aend skill-building workshops. The theme for this year’s NGGS is “Reconciliaon: Resurgence of Strong Indigenous Voices Throughout Health Research”. In addion, the Gathering is taking place during Men’s Health Week, therefore submissions related to Reconciliaon and/or Mens’ Health for First Naons, Inuit, or Més are encouraged. ABSTRACT submissions are due May 18, 2016 Submit via the regisraon link Abstracts should be submied on the abstract submission form and be less than 250 words. In addion, the form contains other fields regarding your research project. Please fill out to the best of your ability. You may upload one addional page if you do not have enough room on the form. Graduate students with accepted abstracts will present their research including community partnerships, data collecon, results and disseminaon, and knowledge translaon. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed, scored and selected for invitaon to present by a commiee comprised of graduate/doctoral students and staff from naonal organizaons in Aboriginal health research.
