L.O. To Subtract 2 digit numbers and ones .You might need to use objects to solve the problems below or you could draw the dienes (base 10) to help you. Before we start- Here are some words that you might find useful – takeaway, subtract, minus, partition, exchangeLook at the example for different ways of subtracting.

If you are really confident subtracting with the number line I would like you to have a go at the place value charts or the column method today. Top Tip. If you use the column method it is really important that the ones number sit underneath each other.

Now try these one step word problems. Remember to write out the number sentence each time. Top Tip! The biggest number always goes first when we subtract.

ChallengesUse one of the methods you have been learning today to workout the problems below.

L.O. Bonds of 100 (tens and ones)Today we are going to build on our knowledge of bonds to 100 using our tens numbers. We will also need the exchange method that we have been practising with our subtraction.

This is a dienes 100 piece. You can use this to help you with bonds to 100 today alongside your base 10.

Use the 100 squares below to solve the

problems.

Here are some base 10 rods. How many more do I need to make 100?45 squares are coloured. How many are left?

Thursday 4 th June There are no video links for today’s learning. L.O. Adding 3 single digit numbersToday you will need to use your knowledge of number bonds and near bonds toSolve the problems below. Look at the examples below if you need more help.

Now try these.5 + 4 + 9 = 8 + 5 + 6 = 7 + 5 + 7 = 8 + 2 + 10 =6 + 3 + 7= 5 + 2 +9 = 5 + 5 + 9 = 7 + 7 + 6 =Explain which the easiest parts of the addition was.

Now try this.Choose three cards each time. How many different addition number sentences can you make?

Challenge

7 + 9 + 9 = I know double 9 is 18 so I can add these together first.9 + 9 = 18 18 + 7 = I know that 18 + 2 = 20 + 5 = 25 (I partitioned the seven to smaller parts to help me).

What is the biggest total you can make? What is the smallest amount you can make?

ChallengesTop Tip! You will need to show me at least 5 different examples to prove the answer to this challenge.Challenge: Explain what happens when you add 3 even numbers together. Show me at least 5 different examples to prove your answer.
