1. RELEVANT PREVIOUS DECISIONS
1.1 26 July 2011 - Cabinet Report – Strategic Library Review1.2 DPR 1487 – Creation of a temporary post combining the head
libraries and customer services.
2. CORPORATE PRIORITIES AND POLICY CONSIDERATION
2.1 The adjustments proposed are essential for the effective imple
library strategy, which supports the corporate priority to providless money. The strategy sets out the future direction of the sprovision to achieve a £1.4 million saving over 3 years.
3. RISK MANAGEMENT ISSUES
3.1 Failure to address constraints within the current management place both the day to day management of the library service aimplementation of the strategy projects at risk. It is estimated duties will occupy an average of 40% of the current managemfor the duration of the strategy. In addition, daily managementhe three senior management posts have risen following the atemporary Head of Customer Services and Head of Libraries p2011.

8.1 The library service comprises around 100 FTE staff organisedOperations, Children’s and Adult Services. Each division is hemanager reporting into the Head of Service. This structure too
