Matthew Swanson Barry Agin (MARTIN VANDERHOF) is honored to return to this wonderful stage with this multi-talented cast & crew. Recent CTG shows include Around the World in 80 Days;; Bullshot Crummond;; Sunshine Boys;; & his Goldie winning performance as Edna in Hairspray. Local audiences may also remember him from performances down the street at the Rep in such shows as 12 Angry Men and Moonlight & Magnolias to name a few. As always Barry thanks his incredible family & friends for their never ending support. This performance is dedicated to his love. Jane Arnett (GAY WELLINGTON) My name is Jane and I’m ‘a stage-aholic’. Teaching communications is my job, while theatre is passion. I’ve played pirates, a fairy, a fairy Godmother, a drunk, a hunchback, a nurse, a witch, a maid, a psychic, a mother and a grandmother. I cherish my theatre friends with whom I love to “play.” This is role feeds my addiction! Eduardo Arteaga (MR. DE PINNA) is returning to the stage after a 6-year hiatus, and is ecstatic to make his debut with CTG! Eduardo’s passion’s are the theatre and teaching at Mission View Public School in Pacoima, where he gets to share that passion for the arts and education with his amazing students and staff. His favorite roles include Herr Schultz (Cabaret), The Father (Six Characters in Search of an Author), and El Pachuco (Zoot Suit). Eduardo would like to thank the cast and crew for this wonderful experience, but most of all, his family, and everyone supporting him throughout this creative process. Enjoy the show!
Paul Carpenter (MR. KIRBY) is honored to make his CTG debut with Brad and such talented cast mates. Paul has trod local stages from Camarillo (WILLY WONKA) to Hillcrest (Fiagro with Panic!) Gilbert & Sullivan with VCGSRC;; G.B. Shaw with Classics in the Park) to Conejo Players (Wizard of Oz and Neil Simon) to West Valley (Children’s theater;; Chekhov;; Our TOwn), NoHo (Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl;; a Carollian Snark/Alice mashup;; a vampire rock musical), Hollywood, Pasadena (Arsenic and Old Lace), and the Theatricum Botanicum. He has also acted in a few dozen films. By day, Paul works for 3D Systems, explaining software. Erik Clarke (FBI AGENT #1) has directed and appeared over the years in nearly ten shows on the CTG stage, beginning with “The Lion In Winter” in 1993 for which he won a Goldie, and the last being “Romeo and Juliet”. He’s enjoyed working again with his friend, director Brad! Michael Collins (BORIS KOLENKHOV) After a 4-year absence from the theatre (last seen in "Moonlight and Magnolias" at the REP) and a 6-year hiatus from the CTG stage (in 2011's "Social Security"), Michael is thrilled to be performing again. He is a 5 time Goldie Award winner in such shows as "Destry Rides Again", "Leading Ladies", and as the Cowardly Lion in "Wizard of Oz." Mike Davies (FBI AGENT #3) is from England. He was a professional actor and director and member of British Actors Equity. Mike has won Goldie Awards for Set Design, Acting, and Directing. He is also an instructor for young peoples workshops at the CTG having a strong belief in the positive affect of theatre. Marc Deagon (PHIL SYCAMORE) As The Old Man in A Christmas Story, The Creature in Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, Long John Silver in Treasure Island, Gandalf in The Hobbit, how can you not have fun? Thanks to Brad and Margo for all their efforts and love to all my cast members. Such a wonderful crazy bunch. “Thanks to the “crew”. To Colleen, Mary, Garrett, Douglas and Kevin too. You inspire this Old Man to carry on. The one thing I can take with me is the love in my heart.” God Bless. Danika Fields (ALICE) is grateful for the opportunity to work with Brad Sergi and the talented cast and crew at CTG, this being the first play for which she’s auditioned and Alice her stage debut character. Danika is the moon sparkling on the ocean at midnight and a cat walking along the cliff’s edge. Passionate about music (ASCAP), writing (WGA) and acting (SAG-AFTRA), her studies include the William Alderson Acting Studio, Playhouse West, Lifebook Academy and The Groundlings. When not auditioning for commercials, films or working on set, she spends her time creating and developing projects, including two feature film projects in development.
Megan Greenspan (ESSIE) is thrilled to be in her debut performance with the Canyon Theatre Guild. Megan is a classically trained actress, with her strongest background being Shakespeare. She studied at The Hartt School working toward her BFA in Actor Training. Megan has also trained with the Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga, CA. Megan is also a ScareActor, working at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. Look for him in a few episodes of "Criminal Minds" and as a co-lead in a soon to be released western feature film, "The West and the Ruthless". Alexander has been acting for a short 3yrs, but is passionate about the profession. His journey has also afforded him the opportunity to be a part of SAG/AFTRA. Edward Landon (FBI AGENT #4) would like to thank Eric Clarke for inviting him to audition. He has accompanied his son and daughter in several DEE Studios productions playing in Libby's Diner(Nicky Palumbo), Young Frankenstein(Monster), Addams Family(Uncle Fester), and Newsies (Snider). Jeff Lucas (TONY KIRBY) was last seen in Hello Dolly, for which he split CTG's lead actor in a musical trophy with Craig Sherman. Other roles were Teen Angel in Grease and a Malachi brother in Happy Days. He is well included in the famous Sheen/Estevez 2012 memoir, Along The Way. You Can't Take It With You is my first non-musical play of this kind since Moon Over Buffalo in 2004. “I was was in that with Michael Collins and I am in this with Michael Collins! Thank you to Brad Sergi for giving this 1936 play a fresh look.” Rosemary Moffat (MRS. KIRBY/ OLGA) Rosemary holds a Masters Degree in Theatre, but her finest training has been on the stage itself. With over 55 productions under her belt, Rosemary is currently Director of Youth Programs here at CTG. She is excited to be a part of such a fabulous, zany production of this cherished show!
