Meditation Scripture

Revelation 19:6-8Romans 16:16… The Churches of Christ Greets You.

Revelation 19:6-8

6And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

7Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Scripture Reading

John 3:25-30Romans 16:16… The Churches of Christ Greets You.

John 3:25-30

25Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

John 3:25-30

26And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

27John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

John 3:25-30

28Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

29He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

30He must increase, but I must decrease.

1-Dealing with Religious Questions 25Then there arose a question

between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

First, we have the example of Our Lord Jesus (see Matthew 4: 3-10) “It is written”

Answer Religious question with Scripture!

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideJohn 3:25-30

1-Dealing with Religious Questions

If the person that is asking you a religious question does not want to take the time to hear what is “WRITTEN” in God’s Holy Word,

Why should you or I try to give them our 2 cent worth of our worthless opinions?

Stick with “It is Written” 26And they came unto John, and

said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

27John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. (James 1:17)

Stick with “It is Written” (James 1:17) “Every good gift and every

perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideJohn 3:25-30

1-Dealing with Religious Questions We are going to be questioned. People are

going to want to challenge our faith as well as our character. But when it comes to question of religion STICK with “It is Written….

1-Dealing with Religious Questions

I Peter 3:15

15But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideJohn 3:25-30

1-Dealing with Religious Questions 1 Peter 4:11

11If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideJohn 3:25-30

1-Dealing with Religious Questions 1 Thessalonians 5:21

21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

James 3:1  1My brethren, be not many teachers,

knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

John 3:25-30

26And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

“It is Written”

“It is Written”Malachi 3:1

1Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Matt 3:3

“It is Written”Isaiah 40: 3The voice of him that crieth in the

wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

5And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideJohn 3:25-30

29He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideII Cor 11:2-3

We (the Church) are espoused to or promised to Christ.

“ 2For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideJohn 14:2-3

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His Bride Romans 7:4

4Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideMatthew 25

1Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideMatthew 25

5While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideMatthew 22:2-

2The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

The Marriage of the Bridegroom and His BrideMatthew 22:9-10
