Dear Parents and Care Givers
Welcome back to Term 4 at Gosnells Primary School. I trust everybody had a restful break and has returned full of enthusiasm and energy for the run into the end of the 2019 school year. Term 4 is traditionally very busy and this year promises to be no different, with a number of major events already planned:
Interschool Athletics Carnival – Thursday, 31 October
School Development Day – Friday, 1 November
The Lion King Jnr Production – Wednesday, 6 and Thursday, 7 November
P&C Colour Run Fundraiser – Friday, 15 November
ZONE Bowling – Fathering Project – Thursday, 21 November
Parent Helper & Volunteer Morning Tea – Wednesday, 4 December
P&C Glow Disco – Friday, 6 December
2019 Kindy Expo & Orientation Program – Wednesday, 11 December
Carols by Candlelight – Thursday, 12 December
Graduation Celebrations – Wednesday, 18 December
Celebrating Gosnells & Ringing of the Bell – Thursday, 19 December
Stay tuned to our fortnightly newsletter as well as our school Facebook page for updates on upcoming events. If you have any questions about the programs on offer at our school, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher or any member of the school administration team. One of the biggest productions in the history of Gosnells Primary School is drawing nearer! The Lion King Jnr, starring all of our Year 5 and 6 students will be performed in the UCA on Wednesday, 6 and Thursday, 7 November. Tickets are on sale now, $10 Adults and $5 Children, so be sure not to miss out on yours! Miss Johnson and the core cast have been working on this production for 2½ terms and it promises to be a spectacular evening of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
The School Board will be holding an ‘open’ meeting for the purpose of reporting to the school community on Monday, 4 November at 5:30pm. This meeting will examine the draft review of the school’s 2019 Student Performance Data as well as the initial draft Operational Plans for 2020. All parents and carers are welcome to attend this meeting. Finally, planning for 2020 has commenced. In order to accurately predict our student enrolment numbers and subsequently our class structures for next year, we need to collect the most up to date information regarding student enrolments. If you know you will not be attending Gosnells Primary School in 2020, could you please notify the office as soon as possible so we can adjust our enrolment predictions? If you notify us that you will be enrolling at a new school, your child keeps their place at Gosnells until the new enrolment process is complete. However, it is more beneficial to our planning if you are able to let us know sooner rather than later of your intentions. Likewise, if you are aware of new students who are wishing to enrol at Gosnells for 2020, could you please encourage them to complete the enrolment process as soon as possible. Regards
Craig
