Further details of some of these projects are attached for your information.

Plant & Equipment Resources

MacDonald Contracting Australia Pty Ltd has all the equipment in house to get your project

going safely and quickly. We own and operate a fleet of 17 track-mounted drill rigs, 6 man-

portable hydraulic drills for difficult access work and a range of high production colloidal grout

stations, tight access and lower capacity grout stations and other supporting equipment. We

Page 3: 16 November 2009 - MacDonald Contracting

also own and operate concrete pumps, air-compressors and a range of work trucks for

shotcrete work. As well as approximately 25 hand rock-drills and hand rotary drills.

Our fleet includes several custom-built drilling rigs, designed specifically for high-production

anchoring and soil nailing. These rigs incorporate long masts capable of drilling up to 15m in a

single pass (without the need for rod changes), and can reach up existing embankments to a

height of 12m (as is, 20m with addition of extensions). This can add flexibility to site layouts and

can eliminate the need for building work platforms on the embankment for much of the project.

Single pass drilling is therefore safer and more time efficient.

We own stressing equipment from 10 tonnes to 1300 tonnes, capable of anchors ranging from 1-

71 strands. This eliminates the need to borrow it off another company as many of our

competitors do.

We continuously improve, upgrade and replace our equipment to keep up to date with modern

client’s expectations and we innovate to provide new and improved solutions to our clients.

Our large range of plant, equipment and materials stocks, allow us to respond quickly to project

requirements, design changes, break down (spare capacity in our resources) and even

emergency situations. (E.g. subsidence or collapses).

Community

At MacDonald Contracting Australia we give back to our community and endeavour to support

the local communities where we work. This can be from supporting local charities to hiring as

many local staff as is practical and improving their skills through training.

We have an equal opportunity policy with regards to employment. Our team consists of

individuals with diverse multicultural backgrounds.

Quality Control Resources

As part of the company’s commitment to quality, the company owns its own in-house grout

quality monitoring and testing equipment and load testing equipment, as well as documented

procedures / work instructions for inspection and test methods. Equipment includes:

• Flow cones for fluidity testing

• Grout density balls

• Electronic grout flow monitor with instantaneous readout for grout flow, flow rate, total

volume, elapsed time

• Calibrated grout pressure gauges

• Electronic scales and volume measuring equipment

• 3-gang grout cube moulds

• Calibrated dial and digital displacement gauges

• Calibrated hydraulic jacks and gauges (100kN to 13,000kN)

MacDonald Contracting will ensure that relevant site personnel are appropriately trained in

quality control inspection and test methods. This will include training for grout sampling to ensure

that the required NATA endorsed test certificates can be provided as per the project

specification.

MacDonald Contracting has significant experience in RMS specification projects and can

provide the necessary documents such as project specific plans, procedures, ITP’s, forms and

checklists to ensure the works are properly planned and documented.

These are photos of the drill (called the Mach 3) which we prefer to use high volume works due

to its power, articulation and features such as electronic inclinator and alignment. This drill has a

vertical reach of 0-11m as is, or it can be extended.
