Invite friends over for a costume party. Buy a pumpkin Head over to the school’s annual pumpkin patch fundraiser and pick up a pumpkin to decorate for Halloween. “My favorite part of fall is pumpkin carv- ing with my family,” said senior Alma Duran. Autumn To-Do List Visit a haunted house There are many scary attractions in the area. Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream is popular among stu- dents. Universal Studios also hosts a similar event, Halloween Horror Nights. Watch NFL football games Catch up on the progress of your favorite team dur- ing fall on television on Sunday and Monday nights. “I like to play and watch football. I’m looking forward to the NFL season,” said sophomore Frank Molina. Head over to the beach As strange as it sounds, Tampa’s fall weather is still prime beach weather. Spending a day at the beach would be optimal this season because of the lack of tourists and pretty cool weather. “I like to go to the beach during fall so I can keep my summer tan,” said sophomore Lauren Campbell. Although the joy that summer brings is ending, the change in season brings special events, the beginning of school sports games, great weather and a fresh change of pace for everyone. Here are four great things to look forward to during fall: ** Hoodie Season– There’s nothing quite like sweat- er weather. Going out on the first cold day of the year is not only a refreshing change of pace from Tampa’s notoriously hot summers. Plus, students wearing jackets and jeans will significantly decrease the amount of dress code violations given out by SAO It’s a win-win situation! ** Pumpkin-Spiced Lattes – Regarded quite highly among the coffee drinkers around school, pumpkin- spiced lattes are a sweet, delicious treat! Not into caffeine? There are plenty of hot drink alternatives– for example, apple cider or hot chocolate – that will help keep warm. ** Happy, Happy Holidays – When the second quarter of school rolls around, students can expect to enjoy a week off of school for Thanksgiving Break. Hopefully, that will be enough time to catch up on missed sleep and spend some time giving to those in need. ** Tis’ The Football Season – Friday night football games are enough reason to spend all autumn season invariably happy. Can’t distinguish a first-down from a touch-down? It’s no matter, spending the game representing Cowboy pride with school friends can be enough fun to make the whole night memorable. Model #3 Lauren Gomogda, freshman Through fashion, teenagers have an outlet to express themselves. The latest goal for the shopping-savvy teen is to acquire the ultimate fall wardrobe to conquer the weather and maintain an overall good appearance. Current fashion trends among teens include color- ful jeans, printed shirts, jean jackets, sheer tops and other unique pieces. Brands such as Volcom, American Eagle, Hollister, Polo, Nike and Champs are all popular among teenag- ers this season. This segment takes a look into the careful planning and detail necessary to achieve the perfect autumn outfit. F all F ashion Preview “I like to keep it simple. Just jeans in any color, a shirt and a jacket are like my daily attire. I like fun accessories like animal earrings and cute necklaces. I just like to keep it classy.” Model #4 Faith Guevarez, senior “I like bright colors and crazy outfits. I put on whatever makes me feel confident. I don’t follow trends.” “I would describe my style as unique and trendy. I look for bright colors and things people would not wear. I don’t want other people to have the same clothes as me.” “My style is classy. Polo is a nice clean brand then some- times you hit them with the Nike street swag.” Model #1 Sung Park, junior Model #2 Joshua James, sophomore Boys: G irls: #3 #4 #1 Ladies should expect to see new styles come into fashion: pastel pants, jean jackets, lace tops and military style boots. Although these trends are popular, every girl has her own style.
