Colossians 1:15-20 In the cross all creation is united in Christ.

Luke 10:25-37 Even the stranger is to be loved as a neighbor.

The first reading today sets the stage for our gospel story of the good Samaritan. Mo-

ses tells the people that God’s command is within each heart. As we hear the story of

the good Samaritan, it is good for us to realize that acting mercifully toward our

neighbor is build into the human heart, all we have to do is act on it. Let us then ask

God for the courage to do what we already know how to do.

Office of Religious Education

Registration for Religious Educations Classes will begin on

July 1st with the deadline on July 31st, 2016. The first day of

classes will be August 14, 2016.

Registration forms will be available for downloading online

@ olgcchurch.org and at the Parish Office during regular

business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm.

You will be charged a book fee which will be stated on the

registration form.

Those requiring Holy Eucharist & Confirmation must present

a copy of their Baptism Certificate. Confirmation students

must also present a copy of their First Holy Communion

Certificate.

If you have any questions, please call the office and leave a

message.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

RCIA

Would you like to inquire and explore the possibility of

becoming a baptized Catholic? Would you like to

complete the initiation rites, i.e. receive First

Communion and/or Confirmation? Would you like just to

understand why we Catholics do what we do? If you

answered “Yes” to any of the questions, Rite of

Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA for short) classes are

Calling all sports fans and even non-sports fans of Our

Lady of Good Counsel! All are welcome to witness the

Diocese’s first island sports event called 2016 Oahu

Tournament of Parishes. This event, which will be held

on Saturday, July 16 at Central Oahu Regional Park,

will feature young adults from parishes island-wide

engaging in a friendly volleyball competition for

charity. The overall winning team will have event

proceeds donated to a charity of their choice, while also

coordinating a service project for their chosen charity.

OLGC Young Adults and friends have put together a

team called “Our Lady’s Army.” OLGC Young Adult

Ministry members will also be running a concession

stand at the event for which proceeds will also be

donated to charity. Show your support for our parish,

while partaking in fun, fellowship and a good cause by

coming out to this event.

OLGC Family Ministry is scheduled to cook and serve a meal for

the Nest Step Homeless Shelter on Wednesday, July 27th. Cook-

ing begins at 2:30pm here at OLGC and we serve at the shelter at

6:30pm. OLGC families who want to participate with this event

please contact the YAFM coordinator at the Parish office. The
