NewsletterNo 21: Friday 15th June 2012
Welcome back. It is hard to believe we are now in the final term of this year,
especially as the weather this week has hardly been very summery! We had an incident this week where a cardrove through a puddle and drenched two of our pupils on their way to school. The driver did not stop to see if
these children were okay but the girls sensibly went home to get dry. However, this meant they arrived at
school late for lessons. Please can I urge drivers to be careful and considerate especially during the wetweather on these narrow roads. This term marks the start of many changes at St Christopher's. We are
delighted to announce that we have appointed an experienced teacher, Mrs Rachael Long, to join our staff team.
We are also in the process of advertising for another teacher and will update you as soon as we have more news.

during the year to keep our records up-to-date. Forms are

A Bus Register is taken daily at morning registration to
ascertain which children will be travelling home by bus at theend of the school day.
It is, therefore, imperative that your child knows how they aregetting home before they arrive at school in the morning to
ensure the register is correct for the member of staff on bus
duty.
If your family eats Nestle cereals, please remember to tear off the token
on the top of the box and bring it in to

SCPA BOOK SHOP
Following on from our Feb newsletter, we have continued with bookshop running in the following format:-
First full week Tues of the Term - 9.30 11.00 am, each class visits us in the hall for a few minutes to
have a loo k at the whole range of books currently available from ages 3+ through to 9+. The children may
choose a book to reserve in order to save for it or buy outright within 6 weeks or before the end of the
term. Children do not have to reserve a book if they do not wish to save for or buy anything at this time.
Every Thursday lunchtime - 12.15 12.45 pm, the reserved books only are available for purchase usually in
Willow Class. Children are also able to buy savings stamps to the value of 10p, 20p, 50p or 1 so this canbe placed on their savings card and they can tell us any time if they no longer wish to purchase the book
they have reserved.
Last Tues of term - 3.15 3.45 pm, all books currently available are on sale in the hall for children, parents
or carers to come and buy.
As wed hoped, the children have been very keen to reserve a book on the first Tues morning viewing,
which is great, however, only a few regularly return to bookshop on a weekly basis to either purchase their
reserved book or buy stamps to save for another. We have also found that the end of term after school
sale has only a few regular customers. With this in mind, we would like to seek parent/carers opinions on
the current availability, usefulness and benefit of the school bookshop facility to you and your children,
and would ask if you could please take a minute to tick one of the boxes below and return to the school
office as soon as possible with any suggestions you may have.
Many thanks
Jo and Paula - Bookshop Volunteers-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
