Create Batch Classification

3. PurposeIn this document, a batch classification is created.

4. Prerequisites

a. Roles

UseThe following roles must have been installed to allow the relevant activities to be carried out in the SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC). In addition, they must be assigned to the user or users who will perform the process steps described in this document. You do not need these roles if you are not using the NWBC interface, but the standard SAP GUI.

PrerequisitesThe business roles have been assigned to the user who is testing this scenario.

Business role Technical name Process step

Sales Administrator SAP_BPR_SALESPERSON-S Defining Batch Search Strategy for SD)

5. Process Steps

a. Creating Characteristics

UseIn this activity you create new characteristics for batch classification (only FIFO). For expiration data we use standard characteristics.

Procedure1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:

2. On the Characteristics screen, enter a characteristic name for your new characteristic and choose Create.

3. Make the following entries:

5. Save your entries.

Result

To generate a characteristic list, use transaction code CT10 (menu path Cross-Application

Components → Classification System → Environment → Reporting → Characteristics List).

For the expiration date search strategy, the standard characteristics LOBM_VFDAT (expiration date), LOBM_RLZ (remaining shelf life for batch) and LOBM_LFDAT (batch determination delivery date) are used.

b. Creating Classes

UseThe purpose of this activity is to prepare the master data for the search strategy (FIFO and Expiration Date)

Procedure1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:

Option 1: SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI)

SAP ECC menu Logistics Central Functions Variant Configuration Environment Classification Master Data Classes

Transaction code CL02

Option 2: SAP NetWeaver Business Client (SAP NWBC) via Business role

Business role (name) Engineering Specialist (SAP_BPR_ENG_SPECIALIST_EX-S)

Business role menu Engineering Variant Configuration Create Class

2. In the Class screen field, enter a class.

3. In class type field, enter 023, and choose Create.

4. On the Create Class: screen, make the following entries for the class used for FIFO, Expiration Date (MM) and Expiration Date (SD/PP) search strategy:

Field Name FIFO Expiration Date (MM) Expiration Date (SD/PP)

Class Enter a suitable name (for example YB_BATCH)

c. Creating Sort Sequences

UseThe purpose of this activity is to create the sort sequence used to sort batches during batch determination.

Procedure1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:
