Prayer to stop the coronavirus Our Father, we confidently ask that the Covid-19 does no further harm and that this epidemic can be controlled soon and that you return health to those affected and peace where it has reached soon. It welcomes people who have died from this disease, comforts their families. Support and protect healthcare personnel who fight it and inspire and bless those who work to control it. Lord Jesus, doc-tor of our souls and our bodies, we feel helpless in this situation of international health emergency, but we trust you, give us your peace and health.

Story Poor Thomas! He made one remark and has been branded as “Doubting Thomas”

ever since. But if he doubted, he also be-lieved. He made what is certainly the most explicit statement of faith in the New Testament: “My Lord and My God!” and, in so expressing his faith, gave Christians a prayer that will be said till the end of time. He also occasioned a compliment from Jesus to all later Chris-tians: “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed” (John 20:29). Thomas should be equally well-known for his courage. Perhaps what he said was impetuous—since he ran, like the rest, at the showdown—but he can scarcely have been insincere when he ex-pressed his willingness to die with Jesus. The occasion was when Jesus proposed to go to Bethany after Lazarus had died. Since Bethany was near Jerusalem, this meant walking into the very midst of his enemies and to almost certain death. Re-alizing this, Thomas said to the other apostles, “Let us also go to die with him” (John 11:16b).

La historia de Santo Tomás Apóstol ¡Pobre Tomas! Hizo un comentario y ha sido calificado co-mo "Tomas el dudoso" desde entonces. Pero si dudaba, también creía. Hizo lo que sin duda es la declaración de fe más explícita en el Nuevo Testamento: "¡Mi Señor y Mi Dios!" y, al expresar así su fe, dio a los cristianos una ora-ción que se rezará hasta el fin de los tiempos. También ocasionó un cumplido de parte de Jesús a todos los cris-

tianos posteriores: “¿Has llegado a creer porque me has visto? Bienaventurados los que no vieron y creyeron” (Juan 20:29). Tomas debería ser igualmente cono-cido por su coraje. Quizás lo que dijo fue impetuoso, ya que corrió, como el res-to, en el enfrentamiento, pero apenas pudo ser sincero cuando expresó su dispo-sición a morir con Jesús. La ocasión fue cuando Jesús propuso ir a Betania des-pués de que Lázaro había muerto. Como Betania estaba cerca de Jerusalén, esto significaba caminar en medio de sus enemigos y casi hasta la muerte. Al darse cuenta de esto, Tomás dijo a los otros apóstoles: "Vamos también a morir con él" (Juan 11: 16b).

Dear Parishioners, Greeting from Our LORD Jesus Christ. St. Nicholas will now be open to celebrate the Eucharist (Mass). We will begin on June 20th and 21st. However, there are certain restrictions. This applies to weekend masses only. Restrictions: 1. Only 50 individuals will be allowed to attend each Mass. 2. Social distancing will be observed. You must wear a mask. *Children 2 years and older must

wear mask. 3. You must make an appointment and state which Mass you will attend. *This has to be done

weekly. 4. The appointment must be made on Thursday by phone. The hours will be from 8:30 am to noon

(12:00). 5. You may also make your appointment by email. This will take place Mondays to Thursdays. The

hours will be from 8:30 am to noon (12:00). 6. Listed below are the schedule Masses: Saturdays 4:00 pm English and 6:00 pm Spanish Sundays 12:00 pm Spanish 7. Week day Masses will begin June 16th. If we go over 20 individual, we will celebrate the Mass in the Church. 8. The Mass will also be posted on Facebook. Thank you for your cooperation. Estimados Feligreses, Saludo de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo. San Nicolás estará ahora abierto para celebrar la Eucaristía (misa). Comenzaremos el 20 y 21 de junio.
