The Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce was established in 1983, as a broad-based organization that strives to improve the commercial climate of the City, to promote planned economic and community development, and to make the greater Bowie community a better place to live and work.

The foundation of the Chamber is its growing and diverse membership, which accomplishes the aims of the organization by volunteer service on its board and standing committees. CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

The Chamber offers opportunities throughout the year for companies to participate and receive recognition. Sometimes companies are very generous with their support throughout the year and discover at the end of the year that their total participation could have afforded them much more recognitionhadtheyidentifiedtheeventsintheirmarketingstrategyduringtheir annual budget preparation.

The Corporate Partnership Program affords a company the opportunity to (1) participate at the same levels and in the same programs in which they may already be participating, (2) continue to receive the recognition that they are entitled to and earn year round recognition on the Chamber’s website, email blasts and other printed materials, and (3) earn additional tickets to other events.

The Corporate Partnership Program also offers invoicing in order to assist companies in their annual budgeting. Companies may choose to either pay for the Partnership Program in advance, or request that payments be divided into 2 semi-annual payments. If a company chooses to divide the funding of its Partnership, the Chamber will invoice the company as designated.

This year-long program is designed to provide young people with experiential leadership opportunities while exposing them to different career paths. The program runs from September through May. Participants meet one day per month for a group activity and to complete a community service project. Plan and implement a community project that will benefit the greater Bowie community. Youth Leadership Bowie accepts applications from students entering their sophomore and junior years in high school. Students must live in Bowie or attend Bowie High School. Applicants will demonstrate a record of community activity or show an interest in becoming involved in the Bowie community.
