When we say that missionary work is a work of miracles, what we are really saying is that this amazing work in which we are involved is a divine work that requires our following divine direction to be successful. The Savior knows beforehand which of His children will accept the Restored Gospel but WE do not. For that reason we rely on divine sources to either lead us to them or have them led to us. The degree to which we recognize those sources and learn to trust and follow them determines how successful we will be as missionaries. Two of those sources include personal revelation and the light of Christ. The Prophet Joseph Smith stated that, “Salvation cannot come without revelation; it is in vain for anyone to minister without it.” In fact revelation is necessary on a daily basis. It is reassuring to know that because of God´s love for us, He provides a way by which we can be led and directed in our daily labors. Missionaries had hands placed on their heads and were set apart and given special powers and authority to serve as emissaries of the Master. Through this power, He will guide you to people who will receive the message of the Restoration as well as give you power to deliver the message and to testify of Christ and His gospel (PMG). He requires that you remain worthy to receive this personal revelation and is generous when you are. As you mature as missionaries, you learn to recognize those impressions to come to you. Many of those impressions did not come from your own mind, but are the Spirit speaking through you. It is of crucial importance that you (1 recognize those impressions as revelations and (2 act on them immediately. As you do so the Spirit will come to trust and rely on you and more revelation will be given to you. Not listening to them or failing to act on them will make it less likely that you will be privileged to continue to receive them. When we say that missionary work is a work of miracles, what we are

really saying is that this amazing work in which we are involved is a divine work that

requires our following divine direction to be successful. The Savior knows beforehand

which of His children will accept the Restored Gospel but WE do not. For that reason

we rely on divine sources to either lead us to them or have them led to us. The

degree to which we recognize those sources and learn to trust and follow them

determines how successful we will be as missionaries. Two of those sources include

personal revelation and the light of Christ. The Prophet Joseph Smith stated that,

“Salvation cannot come without revelation; it is in vain for anyone to minister without

it.” In fact revelation is necessary on a daily basis. It is reassuring to know that

because of God´s love for us, He provides a way by which we can be led and

directed in our daily labors. Missionaries had hands placed on their heads and were

set apart and given special powers and authority to serve as emissaries of the Master.

Through this power, He will guide you to people who will receive the message of the

Restoration as well as give you power to deliver the message and to testify of Christ

and His gospel (PMG). He requires that you remain worthy to receive this personal

revelation and is generous when you are. As you mature as missionaries, you learn to

recognize those impressions to come to you. Many of those impressions did not come

Message From Presidente Dayton Cont.

15 de Noviembre de 2015

We are all aware that the constant presence of the Holy Ghost can occur only

after a Melchizedek Priesthood holder has laid hands upon your head after baptism and

conferred this important gift. Thus, our investigators don´t have the gift of the Holy Ghost.

However, they do have the light of Christ which is given to every man who is born on Earth.

Spiritual guidance for our investigators begins with the light of Christ which provides

enlightenment, knowledge, and an uplifting, ennabling, persevering influence that comes

upon men because of Jesus Christ. PMG makes it clear that the light of Christ should not be

confused with the personage of the Holy Ghost because the light of Christ is not a personage

at all. Its influence is preliminary to and preparatory to one´s receiving the Holy Ghost. The

light of Christ is crucial to lead honest truth-seekers to find the only true and living gospel on

the face of the earth. Elder Packer taught us that the Holy Ghost can actually work THROUGH

the light of Christ. According to him, missionaries are not planting something foreign or even

new into an adult or a child but are making contact with the Spirit of Christ already there.

The message of the Restored Gospel will have a “familiar ring” to them.

Sometimes we need to just stop and reflect upon the advantage that we

have over other faiths in this great work of bringing souls to Christ. The Holy Ghost is OUR

ally and no other faith has this ally because the Holy Ghost cannot and does not testify

of things that are not true. The first and most important lesson that a new missionary must

learn is that without the presence of the Holy Ghost in this work we cannot be successful.

We may be smart, articulate, accomplished debaters, attractive, charismatic,

charming, funny and, convincing but if we rely only on our own mortal talents and

abilities in this work, we will fail. May we go forth with gratitude for the blessing of

personal revelation and the light of Christ. Divine work requires divine power and the

Lord is generous in providing this divine power to us if we are worthy and if we humbly

ask for it.

Sincerely,

President Merril T. Dayton

Attributes of Jesus Christ – Orderliness

Message From Hermana Dayton

15 de Noviembre de 2015El Clarín de El Faro

Orderliness is keeping everything that is under my jurisdiction neat, clean, functional, and in its proper place. The opposite of orderliness is confusion.

In the Doctrine and Covenants 88:119, it says "Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing, and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of ORDER, a house of God." Our Heavenly Father is the perfect model of orderliness. When he created the earth it was done in order. His church is run in an orderly manner. In 1 Corinthians 14:33,40 "God is not the author of confusion, but of peace...but all things be done decently and in order."

We can practice orderliness in missionary work by--Planning our day the night before, so that when we arise, we are focusedStaying on the missionary scheduleKeeping all items in their proper placeKeeping all possessions organizedDoing our weekly planningResisting the temptation to buy more than there is time, money or space forPicking up after ourselves when we leave a room, leaving it cleaner than we found itDoing dishes immediately after eating and not leaving them on the table or in the sink

President Dayton and I love you very much. We feel grateful for the many ways you create order in the mission. We are grateful for the effort you put forth to keep your apartments orderly, for submitting baptismal forms, intercambio forms and rimbursements in a timely manner. We will continue to pray for you daily as you diligently serve our Heavenly Father in this great work of bringing souls to Him.

So this week was the baptism of Santos. The service was really great. Considering we only knew the night before that he could actually be baptized, it was a really good service. The spirit

was there and we were all edified. Unfortunately he was not confirmed this Sunday. ……….. I passed by last night to check up on them and to confirm the baptism of Laura, his wife. She was not baptized this weekend ...we respected that to

say the least. Not to worries, she is super excited for her baptism this week! They are such a great family. They will both be confirmed together next Sunday.

Now for good, Hugo was baptized, it was awesome confirmed also awesome, received the priesthood and is a ward missionary and he givin it his all.

This week Inma got baptized. It came so fast. Last Wednesday, the hermanas passed her off to us because she lives in our area, pretty much on the same block… we had a great lesson. Her mom Lourdes told us the hermanas had set a fechafor the following Saturday… she asked us if that was still on. So, anyway, two lessons, a teaching record caza, and a week later, Inma got baptized. It was all so fast. Wow. She was ready, her mom just needed a little pushing. So super crazy. Life is great here in ___.

This past week has by far been the best week of my mission. This pastSaturday we had the baptism of Jesus. It was such an incredibleexperience to see someone finally accept the gospel and baptism intheir life. I felt so honored to be the one to baptize him as well. Itwas such an unforgettable experience to literally help someone intothe waters of baptism. The next day, Elder ______ confirmed him amember of the church and gave him the gift of the Holy Ghost. It wassuch a miracle.

Maria was baptised!! So that's my miracle this week. She was so excited all last week and she has been a real blessing to us as she was a street contact about three weeks ago and now she's a member! She loves

to take photos so she was taking photos of everyone before the baptismal service and she was just so happy with a huge smile across her face which grew even bigger after the baptism! It was so amazing to see and she's a wonderful woman! Although she did

get a little confused about the baptism of fire as she thought she was literally going to be burnt... So we had to assure her that wouldn't happen! She's super funny though and will be a great member here.

So this was an amazing, outstanding, one for the books, week! WE SAW THE BAPTISM OF CARMEN!! So the baptism was absolutely jaw dropping incredible! It was just amazing. Carmen was so prepared from day one and it was no question that she would be entering those waters last Saturday! It was so spiritual and then at the end she was able to stand up and give her testimony. She killed it! She talked about how she had been born and raised Catholic but she never liked it so she started visiting other churches. She said every time she visited these churches she just felt like there was more. Well of course she was right! She testified that when she made the decision to come to our church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she just felt like it completed everything. It just filled the holes. It had the missing puzzle pieces. I have never heard such a strong convert testimony then right there in that moment. I was so honored and blessed to be the missionary behind the chapa of all the process! It made for a great end to the best 6 months of my life in _________!

The Miracle of Baptism

We saw Edson get baptized. Wow. To be honest. It's been a long time since ive seen a baptism. A lot of prayers I thought went un answered or fastings that went in vain and I can't believe it. I literally didn't even do anything. Ever since I met him he couldn't wait to get baptized. He has easily give he most powerful testimony I have ever heard a convert give. And he is just super good. I really just couldn't believe that something like that came too. It was really humbling for me too. Not only was it fun to see Edson get

baptized but to me it was the lord fulfilling his promise that he would answer a lot of prayer and A lot of fasting. It was a specialnight for us.

Cristina's baptism was great! She was really nervous, but afterwards was very happy. It was all a miracle from the very beginning. The way we found her, her progress, her desires to be baptized. Everything. One sweet thing about Cristina is the way she has come to love the hymns of the church. Right before her baptism we gave her a hymn book. And she was very content. There was a good amount of participation from the branch for her baptismal service and the members are doing great job fellowshippimg her. This baptism was a miracle just freely given to us. Now it is our time to be worthy of more miracles as well as work and sweat for more baptisms.
