2015 - 2016CCCF ANNUAL REPORTDear Readers,

It is with genuine pleasure I present to you the first annual report of The Clearing Corporation Charitable Foundation (CCCF) Fellows Program. The CCCF Fellows Program provides undergraduate business students — interested in finance and related careers— the resources, tools and guidance needed to successfully reach their professional goals. Each CCCF Fellow receives a stipend, paid professional development opportunities and internship placements as part of a $132,000 gift from

the CCCF for 2015-2016. The CCCF Fellows Program ensures that the Fellows have the exposure to relevant courses in their respective functional areas of interest, attend several carefully designed Professional Development Workshops, have access to professionals from the industry as mentors, are well-versed in Bloomberg Terminals, obtain certification in BMC & acknowledgment of completion in BESS and gain meaningful internship experience. The goal of the program is to build the next generation of highly skilled finance professionals to continue the legacy of success at the Heller College of Business.

The first cohort of 20 students was selected during Fall 2015 for the 2015-2016 school year. These students were honored with an induction ceremony during Fall of 2015 in which CCCF trustee member Mr. David Johnson, President Ali Malekzadeh, Provost Samuel Rosenberg and faculty members of HCB attended. The CCCF Fellows are a diverse group of students from various backgrounds. The demographic breakdown of the CCCF Fellows organization is displayed in the following chart.

All Fellows from the 2015-2016 cohort went through several professional development programs such as Resume Writing Workshop, Interview Skills Workshop, Bloomberg Certifications and MS Excel Training. Furthermore, the Fellows attended several professional development forums such as CFA event, Professional Speakers’ Series and Heller

Business Forum. The details of these events can be found in the subsequent pages. At the time of writing this report, 17 out of the 20 Fellows have already been placed for a meaningful internship experience. The names of the organizations where CCCF Fellows were placed can be found in the subsequent pages. Last, but not least, one of the CCCF Fellows, Sharee Zlatkova, was recognized by the Financial Executive International Chicago Chapter for her outstanding academic achievement in February 2016.

It has been a fascinating personal and professional experience for me to work with a group of sharp, hardworking students this year. I look forward to working with the next cohorts of CCCF Fellows in the coming years.

Happy reading!

Sincerely,

Tanweer Hasan, PhDAssociate Dean, Heller College of Business | Founding Executive Director, CCCF Fellows [email protected] | 312-281-3267

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: BLOOMBERG CERTIFICATIONSThe CCCF Fellows were encouraged to gain an understanding of the Bloomberg Terminals by completing the Bloomberg

Market Concepts (BMC) training as well as the Bloomberg Essentials (BESS) training. Both of these training programs helped

students gain a thorough understanding of Bloomberg terminals and how to benefit from their functionality. The BMC training

is a six-hour self-paced e-learning course that provides an introduction into financial markets. The BESS training teaches 23

practical lessons through Bloomberg and takes about eight hours to complete. Upon completion of both trainings, CCCF

Fellows received a Certificate of Completion for BMC and a Certificate of Acknowledgment for BESS.

CCCF FELLOWS COMPETE IN CME GROUP TRADING CHALLENGEChicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group holds a complimentary trading challenge for undergraduate and graduate students

to trade assets and products from various different classes in a simulated trading environment. This is done by using a real-time

trading platform, provided by CQG, to help students become acquainted with the software and how to actively participate in a

trading situation. This is an international competition with 226 schools from 37 countries competing in 500 teams against one

another. Teams need to be made up of three to five students at the same school and they must elect a group leader as a team.

Five CCCF Fellows from HCB participated in this event.
