Machinery Control Technician – Philadelphia, PA
McKean Defense Group is seeking candidates to fill the position of Engineering Technician in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) in Philadelphia, PA Support NSWCCD providing distance and onsite troubleshooting and repair of ships Machinery Control System (MCS) hardware and software problems identified by ships force personnel. Operationally test, troubleshoot and repair the Machinery Control System (MSC).Troubleshoot and repair both Versa Module Eurocard (VME) Bus and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) equipped systems and components.
Shipboard or industrial experience with machinery control system installation, operational testing, troubleshooting, and repair is required. You will have experience with troubleshooting software-based machinery control systems. Ability to read system drawings and schematics in order to isolate and resolve problems and knowledge and/or understanding of profibus/rs-485/232/modbus and fiber optics is required, as well. Versa Module Eurocard (VME) Bus, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and MCS hardware interfaces experience is necessary.
A current Security Clearance is optimal, and United States Navy shipboard MCS experience is a plus. Experience installing, operating, and maintaining software-based U.S. Navy shipboard machinery control systems is desired.
