with force and arms (dagger) made an assault, beat, wounded and maltreated

in his own person complains of Richard Tomworth of Nottingham <2+, licence>

and John Skeldynghope of the same <2+, acknowledges>. Plea: debt of 3s.4d.

He says that on the feast of the nativity of the BVM 7 Henry VI [8 Sept 1428]

John Whitehonde sold a bay horse worth 3s.4d. to John Marche, to be paid at

Michaelmas following [29 Sept 1428]. For greater security Richard and John

Skeldynghope became John Marche’s pledgers and fidejussors and agreed to pay

3s.4d. at the term of payment if John March should not pay; he paid nothing by

which the action accrued to John Whitehonde to seek 3s.4d. v Richard and John

Skeldynghope; they paid nothing but refused to pay and still refuse. Damages:

St Nicholas and Christmas following [25 Dec 1429], by which promise of the said
