Successful Turnout for “YOUTH WEEK”
Firstly I would like to thank the” Rangatahi of Mangakino” Without you Youth Week wouldn’t have been such a success, it was good to see everyone get-ting involved and giving it a go. Also, congratulations to all the rangatahi who won prizes, in my eyes you are all winners. Secondly, big thanks to all the parent helpers and volunteers for your awhi during the week as without you none of this would have been possible. Lastly, a huge thank you to Helmuth and Taupo District Council for making this event possible for our rangatahi of Mangakino. I’m sure everyone who showed up and supported Youth Week for our rangatahi had so much fun.

Changes have been made to how patients access weekend after hours care for the South Waikato which includes Mangakino Health Services. The after-hours Duty Dr is now based at the ‘GP FAST TRACK CLINIC’ based at the Main Entrance of the Tokoroa Hospital.
SATURDAY ONLY: HOURS ARE FROM 10AM - 4PM,
no appointment necessary. Sunday after-hours are covered by Tokoroa Hospital Emergency Department. Patients registered at Mangakino Health Services can phone 07 882 8299 to speak to a triage nurse out of usual hours.

Ingredients: 700g Stewing Steak or Diced Beef 3 Large Onions, peeled & chopped
4 Apples diced 50g Butter
1 tablespoon Curry Powder 2 tablespoons Tomato Relish 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
1/3 teaspoon Ginger 2 tablespoons Sultanas 1 teaspoon Mixed Herbs 900ml Water or Stock
Preparation: Melt butter and fry onions until soft. Add diced apples and beef, cook until
brown. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and
simmer for 1.5 hours. Serve with rice.

This weekend was very good for
the community and despite the
large number of people in the area,
there were very few problems. I
credit this largely to the proper
organisation that went on with
events and thank those involved.
Late last week there was a large
theft at the new conversion farms
at Whakamaru. A truck came in
the night and got away with 500
posts and a large amount of other
fencing gear. This was a well
planned crime and I am certain
that one of our readers will know
something about it. My question
to that reader is, “are you brave
enough to make a stand and speak
up rather than allowing the crooks
to get away with it”?
There have been a couple of
reports of violence and threats
where people have interfered and
caused trouble. The first
annoyance is that some people
have their own agendas when
‘butting in’ and the second is that
a minor matter has been blown up
when it should not have. Because
of poor discipline, one local man
has found himself with an
appointment to stand before the
Judge.

about vehicles with unrestrained
children, you can do so
