Seattle Art Museum Miró: The Experience of Seeing
This exhibition, drawn entirely from the collection of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, offers a fresh assessment of the late period in Miró's work-a body of work that audiences in the United States have not had the opportunity to fully appreciate. The exhibition brings together over 50 paintings, drawing and sculptures made in the period between 1963 and 1983. Esta exhibición, extraída enteramente de la colección del Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía en Madrid, ofrece una perspectiva fresca del periodo final de la carrera de Miró. Es también la primera vez que el público estadounidense tiene la oportunidad de apreciar esta muestra de más de 50 pinturas, esculturas y dibujos hechos ente 1963 y 1983.

Love Notes for Melissa is a concert dedicated to the wife of Maestro Salvador Brotons, Dr. Melissa Brotons. The concert opens with the warm, drowsy southern nights of Samuel Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915, followed by Manuel de Falla's Flamenco-tinged ballet music to El amor brujo. The second half is filled with Bizet's two familiar and colorful suites from L'Arlésienne.
Dedicado a la esposa de Maestro Salvador Brotons, Dra. Melissa Brotons, el concierto empieza con las noches sureñas tibias y somnolientas de Knoxville: Summer of 1915, por Samuel Barber, seguido por música de ballet con tinte de Flamenco de El amor brujo. La segunda mitad presenta las dos populares y alegres suites de LÁrlessienne de Bizet.

As a musicologist and performer, Paco Díez is one of the most important interpreters of Spanish-Jewish music on an international level. In his debut concert he will be featuring Spanish traditional music, including songs the Sephardic Jews took with them after the expulsion in 1492.

One of the world’s greatest chefs is sharing his secrets. Spain’s Ferrán Adrià, chef of the famous elBulli restaurant, has published the 7-volume set elBulli 2005-2011, chronicling the restaurant’s final years through a whopping 750 recipes. More than a cookbook, it documents the restless creative process of this “wizard of gastronomy”–so restless that in 2011 Adria closed the restaurant to focus on unfettered experimentation.

El español Ferrán Adrià, chef del famoso restaurante elBulli, ha publicado la enciclopedia de 7 volúmenes “elBulli 2005-2011”, la crónica de los últimos años del restaurante a través de 750 recetas. Más que un libro de cocina, documenta el incansable proceso creativo de este "mago de la gastronomía"-tan incansable que en 2011 Adrià cerró el restaurante para dedicarse a la experimentación.

University of Washington World Book Day Buy books without money!
World Book Day is a yearly event on 23 April to promote reading, a Spanish tradition that began in the 1920s. The date was chosen to honor the death of Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare, which were both the 23rd of April. Today in Spain, as well as around the world, the celebration promotes reading and a love for books.
Día Internacional del Libro se celebra cada año a nivel mundial con el objetivo de fomentar la lectura. Se inició en España inició en la década de los 20. La fecha se eligió para honrar la muerte de Miguel de Cervantes y William Shakespeare, ambos el 23 de abril.
