14 day furlough for Sanjay DuttBollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt has been granted 14 days furlough for the treatment of his leg. Serving a 42 month sentence for his alleged role in 1993 Mumbai blasts; he has left the Yerwada prison for now. A play in which the actor was supposed to take part in has been cancelled up by the authorities of Yerwada prison. A furlough is basically a leave of absence from prison granted to a prisoner by the jail authorities. It differs from parole which is granted by the orders of the court.The 53 year old actor was sentenced during March by the Supreme Court for five years in prison. He was linked to the 1993 bomb blasts in Mumbai where 250 people died because of the serial bombings. He was convicted of possessing illegal automatic rifle and a pistol which were said to be supplied to him by the men who were convicted for the bomb blasts. His prison sentence was reduced to five years from the usual six year term by the Supreme Court. The 1993 bombings were considered as worlds worst terrorist attack with 257 approximate deaths and 720 people getting injured in the attacks.
