WHAT IS POWER POINT?

• Microsoft PowerPoint is a slide-show presentation program developed by Microsoft. It was officially launched on May22, 1990, as a part of the Microsoft Office suite.

• PowerPoint presentations consist of a number of individual pages or "slides". The "slide" analogy is a reference to the slide projector.

OBJECTIVES

1. To state the role of PowerPoint slides in a presentation.

2. Understand the “less is more” concept for PowerPoint.

HOME BAR

• This has features that allow you to edit Slides, Fonts, Paragraph, Drawing and Editing.

INSERT BAR

• This has features that allow you to add Tables, Images, Illustrations, Links, WordArt, and Media Clips.

DESIGN BAR

• This allows you to edit how your presentation will look. It includes features such as Page Setup, Themes, and Background Styles.

TRANSITIONS BAR

• This allows you to edit Slide Transitions, Effects, and Transition Timing.

ANIMATIONS BAR

• This allow you to add custom animations to your presentation. You can select from Preview, Animations, Advance Animation, and Animation timing.

SLIDE SHOW BAR

• This allows slides to be shown from beginning or from current slide.

REVIEW BAR

• This allows you to Proofread, Translate Languages, Comment Slides, and Compare your Presentation.

VIEW BAR

• This has features that allow you to set the View of your Presentation, Create Master Views, Show/Hide Features, Zoom, Switch from Color to Gray scale, Adjust Windows, and Add Macros.
