Symptom 

In service sessions like the EarlyWatch Alert performance data from Solution Manager BW orconfiguration data from CCDB (Configuration and Change DB) is missing.This note gets linked in the EarlyWatch Alert report in case data were missing in the SolutionManager BW.About Current Warnings In the EarlyWatch Alert Report

Since February 2013: For the Java stack missing data are now pointed out more clearly. The EWAreport may not be rated (rated grey) for the reason of missing data. Please seehttp://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/JZLzEg ( and note 1801236) for details. If you are on SolutionManager 7.1: To get the Java data collected correctly please refer to KBA 1827116 (SAP Note) whichis a step-by-step troubleshooting guide. (Parts of this KBA you will also find useful on SolutionManager 7.0.)If you are on Solution Manager 7.0 please be aware of the following: recently we observed an issuewith the Java EWA on Solution Manager 7.0: in some cases the warning about missing data for metric'Application Threads' appears in the EWA report although data are found and the check forapplication threads is present in the EWA report. Please refer to note 1835894 to solve this issue.

October 2012 through February 2013: On Solution Manager 7.1 there often is a wrong warning like thefollowing:

Reading performance data from BW returned neither data nor an error code. A timeout mayhave occured.Infocube: 0CCMSAEXE used in section 'Workload Overview <SID>'.Please ignore this warning. For more details see #4 in SAP Note 1732788.

Reason and Prerequisites 

Starting with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 (ST-SER 701_2008_2) service sessions like EWA orGoingLive Sessions read data during service processing from Solution Manager BI (for performancedata) or from CCDB (Configuration and Change DB, for configuration data). Especially NON-ABAPComponents like SAP J2EE Engine use this way to get their relevant performance metrics.

Prerequisites 

l The setup of the managing system (SAP Solution Manger) has to be executed successfully(Transaction SOLMAN_SETUP).

l The setup steps for the managed systems have to be executed successfully and the system reporttheir data correctly to SMD and Introscope as described in the setup guide of SMD that can befound in the Service Marketplace http://service.sap.com/diagnostics -> Installation andConfiguration -> End-to-End Root Cause Analysis System Landscape Setup Guide
