3
Not allowing the bones to move
7- which is a type of movable joints?
A. Pivot joint
B. Bone marrow
C. Fixed joint
D. Hinge joint
E. A and D
8- Name the 3 different types of muscles.
Skeletal muscles-Smooth muscles-Cardiac muscles
9-why do skeletal muscles work in pairs?
Because they can only pull.

3-what is being exchanged in the circulatory system?
Carbon dioxide and wastes with oxygen and nutrients
4-The component of the blood that is fighting a disease is white blood
cells.
5-what are the types of blood vessels and state the function of each?
1. Arteries—carries blood away from heart
2. Veins—carries blood back to heart
3. Capillaries—dissolved materials pass through its walls
6-which is the thinnest blood vessel?
Capillary
7-Trace the path of air in the respiratory system.

A. Circulatory &respiratory
B. Muscular &respiratory
C. Skeletal &respiratory
D. None of the above
10- When we inhale the diaphragm
Is pulled down ,the lungs expand
While when we exhale the diaphragm moves upwards and lungs are
squeezed.
Chapter 2 :
Section 2.1:
1-The dimples are a kind of physical inherited trait
2-The temperature of your body is a kind of functional inherited trait.
3-Handedness is a behavioral inherited trait.
4-All inherited traits pass from parents to offspring.
5-Acquired traits are picked through learning or from environment.
6-The brown color of a leaf is an acquired trait affected by environment.
6
7-Riding a bike is a trait affected by learning.
Section 2.3:
1-Adaptation is
A. When living things interact with nonliving things
B. Everything in the environment
C. The same organisms living together in the same place
D. A trait that helps the organism survive in its environment
2-Why do animals and plants have physical adaptation?
A. To get food and water
B. To avoid enemies
C. To reproduce
3-All are examples of physical adaptation to get food and water EXCEPT
A. Owls have fringed wings
B. Cactus has a thick fleshy skin
C. Snakes have unhinged jaws
D. Color of cicada and tree trunk
4-Mimicry is a kind of physical adaptation to
A. Get food
B. Avoid enemies
C. Reproduce
5-An example of camouflage is the color of Cicada when it is
camouflaged
Against the tree trunk
7
6-Give example of a warning coloration as a physical adaptation to avoid
enemies.
The blue color of poison dart frog warns its enemies that it is poisonous.
7-An example of physical adaptation
To reproduce ,Dandelions seeds are attached to a parachute-like
structure to be easily carried by wind.
8-State weather physical or behavioral adaptation.
A. Markings on a pansy [physical]
B. The praying Mantis [behavioral]
C. Insects look like leaves [physical]
D. The male frigate puffs his chest [behavioral]
Section 2.4
1- Define the process of natural selection.
The process by which organisms that are best adapted to their
environments survive and reproduce. The organisms that are less
adapted to their environment do not survive and reproduce.
2- What did Darwin study to propose the theory of natural selection?
A. Beaks of finches of the Galapagos islands.
B. horses.
C. Dinosaurs.
D. Rabbit legs.
3- Explain the relationship between natural selection and Evolution.
8
As species become better adapted to their environment, their
physical appearance and behavior often change. So natural selection
will occur which is the process by which organisms that are best
adapted to their environments survive and reproduce. Over long
periods of time, organisms can become very different from one
another. Evolution is the gradual change in species over time.
4- What is extinction?
The complete disappearance of all members of a species.
5- Which of the following is an environmental change that could
cause extinction?
A. Asteroids hitting earth.
B. Weather changes such as ice ages.
C. Change in food source.
D. All of the above.
6- A fossil is the remains/traces of an organism that lived long ago.
Fossils help us learns about the history of life on earth.
7- The geologic time scale shows when major groups of organisms
lived on earth and when they died out.
8- Evolution
A. Does not happen nowadays.
B. Is happening all the time.
C. Will happen only in the future.
D. Never happens.
9- Information about human evolution was collected from fossils.
