Fruit Fly PreventionThey’re tiny, they’re a

nuisance and they seeminglycome out of nowhere. They arefruit flies, and while they’ll begone when the crisp weather ofearly fall comes rolling in,during the summer months theyare in prime season and can be abig nuisance.

.Fruit flies are tiny enough

(1/8") that they can sneak intoyour home through the tiniestspace around windows or doors,or even fly right through yourwindow screen. You may evenbe bringing them right into yourhome yourself.

.How’s that? Fruit flies can,

unbeknownst to you, enter yourhome on fruits or vegetables youbring in from the grocery store, farmer’s market or your owngarden. When fruit is overripe orstarts to go bad it begins toferment, producing alcohol, which attracts fruit flies. As theygobble up the fermenting fruit, they can lay hundreds of eggswhich hatch into larvae in merehours. Additionally, fruit flieshave a notoriously short lifecycle, going from egg to adult inabout a week, ensuring analmost- constant breeding cycle.
