Summer Art Zone Camps WLA 2017 Daily Art Zone Fun: Clay Table, Easel Painting, Spray Bottle Painting, Goop Table, Dress Up & Water Kitchen. July 24 to July 28 : West LA Endangered Species on Canvas (Warhol) Pop Artist Andy Warhol inspires Art Zone’s very child friendly & engaging exploration of his Endangered Species Series (1983). August 7 to August 11: West LA Glitter Topped Pastries Sign up the kids for another joyous glitter camp! Glitter will be everywhere, especially on our mouth-watering pastry projects including: Glitter Wedding Cake, Glitter Cherry Danish, Glitter Topped Cupcakes, Giant Glitter Donut & Alligator Cake with Glitter Stripes.

July 31 to August 4: West LA Did You Say “Photo Booth?” Yes! Art Zone transforms the studio into a themed ”photo- opp” with fun and funky props guaranteed to make you laugh & capture that moment. June 12 to June 16 : West LA Art Zone Signature Glitter Galore Camp Glitter, glitter & more glitter will fill your child’s camp days during our signature camp week. June 19 to June 23: West LA We All Scream For Ice Cream! Ode to Oldenburg Art will make your mouth water as we explore our Pop Art hero Claes Oldenburg and his fabulous food art sculptures. Kids create their own studies of Alphabet Good Humor, Banana Split, Soft Fur Good Humor; Cherry Pie á la mode; Upside-Down Ice-cream Cone is WHERE?! (On top of a building, of course!)

August 14 to August 18 : West LA Neon Print Making Studio Art Zone is transformed into a printer’s paradise with brayers, stencils and the glorious smell of high quality printing inks. Beyond the projects listed here, there will be endless opportunities to print & stamp the hours away. Our line-up this week: Neon Abstracts; Your Name in Neon, Neon Hearts, Neon Race Cars, and Friday: Print your Neon Dinosaur & Leaf prints on a T-shirt.

August 21 to August 25: West LA Clay Sculpture Art Camp Fine arts sculpture lessons in earthenware clay: Modern Art Totem Sculpture, Slab Wrap Cup, Classic Fruit Bowl, Modern Birds Nest, & Slab Constructed Village. Projects are age appropriately modified to match your child’s enjoyment & abilities. Plenty of messy clay-play too. Ask staff about kiln firing your child’s work.

August 28 – September 1: West LA Peace, Love & Rock: Beatles Art Camp Art Zone believes that no child’s education is complete without knowing John, Paul, George & Ringo Starr. Join us for a high energy camp: All You Need Is Love Collage, Here Comes The Sun Canvas, I Want to Hold Your Hand Art, Hello/Goodbye door sign, and Friday Tie Dye T-Shirts.

July 10 to July 14 : West LA Tinker Paradise (STEAM Camp) Oh! What a week we have for your favorite explorer. Mon: chemistry day with polymer snow, lemon volcanoes and potions galore! July 17 to July 21 : West LA Self Portrait Art Camp Self-expression is at the heart of artmaking this week, as we ask the timeless question “Who Am I?” Project inquiry includes: Yarn Selfie, Me & My Favorite Foods, Clay Sculpture, Me & My Shadow, and a Cubist Selfie painted on a T-Shirt. These projects offer precious insights you will enjoy years into the future.
