Kids Kraft Corner - Make a special reminder of a wetland animal —ongoing Lobby entrance throughout the day!

Live Lamprey—Alien Invaders– Discover the invasive species that are destroying the Great Lakes Ecosystem and find out what you can do to help stop the invasion! Wet Lab

Invasive Species –Protecting Our Forests– Discover the insects that are destroying our forests & find out what is being done to conserve them—Bay County Environmental Affairs Discovery Table

Arbor Day Tree IQ—What makes the forest unique? Discover the amazing variety of trees that make up the forest commu-nity! Discovery Table Pick up a free White Pine Seedling to take home and plant!

9AM-1:30PM Migratory Animal Kite Workshop - Build a kite and decorate it with one of Michigan's migrators---Birds, Bats and Butter-flies! Prizes for best decorated kites! Free Clinic - Begins in Museum Lobby 9:30AM Birding by the Bay Hike - Naturalist guided ecology hike focusing on signs of spring! Binoculars provided. Meet Naturalist guide on back porch.

Bats of Michigan—Learn about Michigan’s nine species of bats and their remarkable adaptations; how their population benefits us, and why they need your help! Then make a bat house for your backyard. Begins in Auditorium 10AM Beaver Lodge Hike - Naturalist will introduce you to nature’s engineer...the Beaver! Hike out to a beaver lodge and investi-gate the habits which make the beaver unique! Meet by the benches in front of the visitor center. 10:30AM Bluebirds Bring'em Back! - Hear the conservation story of America's favorite song bird, then construct a nest box which will invite them into your own backyard. Auditorium

Arbor Day Tree Hike—In honor of Arbor Day 2018, why not be introduced to the trees that make up the wetland woods? Take a hike with a naturalist guide and discover the many trees it takes to build a forest! Meet by the benches in front of the visitor center. 11AM Citizen Science for the Entire Family—A special look at ways you and your family can contribute to wildlife research and stewardship projects all over the state! Meeting Room 11:30AM Eagles of Bay City State Park — Discover the return of the Bald Eagle to Bay City State Park, as you travel with a local resident and wildlife photographer, Sandy Ross. Sandy will share her personal photographs and natural history discoveries as she set out to discover all she could learn about our national bird’s amazing conservation success story! Auditorium

Alien Invaders by the Bay - Join naturalist guide for an eye-popping look at the many plants and animals that are causing harm to the Great Lakes ecosystem. Become a part of the conservation solution and learn how to identify these invasive species and find out what you can do to help “Save Our Great Lakes!” Meet in the Wet Lab by the Live Sea Lamprey exhibit.

The Lorax Story Hour—A special look at Dr. Seuss's classic tale that has a very special Earth Day message for the young and young at heart!… explore the world of the Lorax through story & activities. Butterflies Around Us - Discover Michigan's best loved “bugs”, why their populations are decreasing, and tips on how to make your backyard a habitat haven for butterflies. Then make a butterfly (shelter) house for your garden Meeting Room

Eagle Nest Hike — Discover how the Bald Eagle triggered the environmental awakening of America & hike to a location to view the park’s bald eagle nest. Binoculars provided. Meet by the benches in front of the visitor center.

2PM Migratory Kite Art Contest - Awards for the Kites decorated with Michigan Migratory Animals! Back porch.

Migratory Animal Kite Fly-Up - Kite flying demonstration and kid’s kite flying contest down by the spray park. Prizes and awards for the highest flying and most colorful kites!
