FairPoint Communications is an Eligible Telecommunications Carrier in Vermont under Federal Communications Commission and Vermont Public Utilities Commission guidelines. As such, FairPoint receives universal service funding.

FairPoint provides the following local services for a monthly charge of $11.13 to $15.71 (plus Federal Subscriber Line Charge, applicable taxes, fees and surcharges) to residential customers:

• Voice grade access to the public switched network• Local Usage • Access to emergency services (Enhanced 911)• Toll Limitation for qualified low income customers

FairPoint also provides a Lifeline Program discount for residence service for eligible low-income customers with federal monthly support of $9.25. In addition, Lifeline customers may also qualify for free toll blocking to help them control long-distance usage. Customers using this offering can still use pre-paid calling cards or dial-around services to place long-distance calls from their homes.

To receive the Lifeline Program discount, residence customers must provide FairPoint with a completed application proving eligibility. Documentation proving enrollment in a qualified government benefit program (Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, Low Income Home Energy Assistance, Section 8 Housing, Food Stamps, the National School Lunch/Free Lunch Program or the Temporary Aid to Needy Families Program) or establishing household income at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines must also be provided.

The Lifeline Program discount is a government benefit program. Only one Lifeline Program discount is available per household on either a wireless or wireline telephone service. The Lifeline Program benefit is non- transferable. Consumers who willfully make false statements in order to obtain the discount can be punished by fine or imprisonment or can be barred from the Lifeline Program.

All customers who receive the Lifeline Program discount must now recertify eligibility for the Program annually. If you receive a recertification package from FairPoint, you must respond within 30 days or FairPoint is required to remove the Lifeline Program discount from your account.

MY HORSE, KIRBY, a 24 year-old Chestnut, Morgan Gelding with white stripe, and two white socks on back legs is is “missing”. Through some unfortu-nate circumstances he has come up missing.
