WASP – ‘money’ data from Embassy is captured and then used to produce financial accounts and

undertake actuarial and-year valuations. AXA Group Solutions (AGS) Owned

FMI – Investment fund pricing system that feeds Embassy (and FNZ). AXA Group Solutions (AGS)

Owned

Portals – Quotes provided (via Biztalk) to external comparison panels (Exchange, Assureweb and

True Potential)

3. The Basingstoke Team

2 Test Managers, 2 Senior Test Analysts, 6 Test Analysts, 1 Automated Tester, 2 TCS contract testers

on-shore, 2 TCS testers off-shore

4. Types of Testing in Basingstoke

System Test – If built in Basingstoke we plan/execute its system test

Integrated Testing – rarely as a separate task, other testing is generally run in an integrated

environment so this type of testing is implied

User Testing – Mainly support of end users in this work, but planning usually falls to us and ofter we

may execute as well

Regression – Test phase at end in ‘Pre-Production’ test environment

Performance – More a matter that we would like to do rather than actually do. (Resource has left)

We would like to establish, but really the historical stance has been more to react (quickly) to a

problem

Automation – One man band. Some successes, but staffing is inadequate really if we are to take this

area seriously going forward.

5. The Main Projects

Separation – Splitting and re-branding systems following sale of business to Friends. Implemented

1/10 and now working through warranty period. A small follow-up piece of work is also needed for

1/11.

Belfast – eComm based term assurance quote and apply process for Bancassurance. Policies

supported on IBM in Bristol so this is therefore a joint location project.

AWWIP – A shiny new web-site for a shiny new company (AXA Wealth). Implements Dec 11 and Feb

12 and moves support of content from IT to Marketing. Agile (DSDM) development being used.

ASLD Website – A shiny new web-site for Sun Life Direct. Implements end Feb 12. Agile (DSDM)

development being used

End Tax Year – Major changes needed to comply with legislation changes that come into play at the

start of the next tax year.

CKB Replacement – Extension of the Chameleon system so that Bancassurance and Sun Life Direct

can move off of the Customer Knowledge Base system that will pass to Friends. Chameleon will link

to IBM in Bristol and hence this is a cross location project

Support of FNZ releases. Not all FNZ code is Elevate - some FNZ code is unique to Basingstoke &

some FNZ code is shared

and bubbling under

Karma - Move of old generation policy image and work item data from Chameleon (hence Karma) to

Capita’s Dolphin system.

Technical Refresh Work - Modernising code and avoiding falling out of external support availability

Migration – Passing to Friends of all data that is now theirs
