“Minor Prophet – Major Message” Two weeks ago, we began a Sunday evening series examining the so-called “Minor Prophets.” We will look at them in their historical context, and draw important, relevant messages for our time from each one. What does God want to say to us in these “little prophecies?” Amongst other things, He wants us to know Him better. He wants us to know how serious he is about our relationship to Him. He pleads with His people in the prophets to take Him at His word, and

Feb. 3: Joel: “Grasshoppers and torn clothes”

Feb. 10: Amos: “The gospel of the lion’s roar”

Feb. 17: Jonah: “Just another fish story?”

March 10: Nahum: “Behold the kindness and severity of God.”

March 3: Micah: “Take a walk up the mountain of God”

March 17: Habakkuk: “Yet will I rejoice . . .”

April 7: Zephaniah: “When God sings”

April 14: Haggai: “Building mansions when the Church is in ruins”

April 21: Zachariah: “My promise never fails!”

June 23: Malachi: “Honoring your agreement with God”

Feel free to read ahead, ask questions and meditate on what God is saying to

you through the messages of these prophets!

Good Morning,

An old farmer plowed hard for many days with an ox and mule yoked together. The ox told the mule that they should play sick and rest. The mule declined saying, “No, we must get the work done, for the season is short”. But the ox played sick and the farmer brought him hay and corn and made him comfortable.

When the mule came in from plowing the ox asked how things had gone. The mule said, “We didn’t get as much done but we did ok, I guess.”

The ox asked, “Did the old man say anything about me?” “Nothing,” said the mule.

The next day the ox played sick again. When the tired mule came in the ox asked how it went. The mule replied, “Ok, but we sure didn’t get much done.” The ox again asked, “What did the old man say about me?” The mule answered, “Nothing directly to me, but he had a long talk with the butcher.”

It’s just a fun story, but it can make you think. What are you doing with the gifts, abilities, and opportunities that God has given you? We can all think of a lot excuses to keep from working for the Lord. But whether it be fear, lack of knowledge, or just plain laziness – let us set those excuses aside and find a way to obediently and loyally serve the Lord today. Let us all strive to one day hear, “well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

In Him,

Luke

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
