The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in

Him, and I am helped. - Psalm 28:7

The long-awaited shipping container (with the newest

addition to our fleet, a Cessna 182) arrived from Nampa,

Idaho at our hanger in Tana on Saturday evening around

6:00pm, just after the sun had gone down. For the guys in

our logistics team this had been a very long day. They left

Tamatave, which is 340 kilometers away, at 4:00am. It

took them 14 hours to make the drive here to the capi-

tal city. That kind of gives you an idea of just how bad

the roads are here in Madagascar. That road also hap-

pens to be the most well-maintained road, because

everything that is used for the capital city is trucked

along it and they were still only able to average 25 kilo-

meters per hour during the trip.

A couple of weeks ago I (Rob) had the privilege of go-

ing with Josh (our pilot) on a medical evacuationflight

to bring a missionary family to the capital from

Maintirano (located on the west coast of Madagas-

car).Theyhad given birth to a premature baby who

needed help. The flight took an hour and a half, but

the 375 kilometer-drive takes up to 4 days! This is

just one of many examples demonstrating why the

aircraft is such a vital tool here.

The aircraft in this shipping container will allow

MAF to help more people and give the missionaries

in these remote isolated communities the transpor-

tation they need to do their work here. We are ex-

cited to see how it will open doors for more minis-

try opportunities because of its lower operating

costs and we feel blessed to be a part of this work.

We continue to adjust and acclima-

    tize to our new surroundings.

Homeschooling is in full swing and

continues to be our main routine

keeper. Life feels somewhat normalaround here as long as school is

    happening. The kids continue to

love the freedom of the outdoors!

Its difficult to realize how we man-

aged to live for 5 months in a

    cramped apartment in Quebec. By

    Gods grace.

Our Kindergarten year is focused on

cultures around the world and last

week we read about different ways

    people eatsome with forks and

    knives, some with chopsticks, some

    with their hands. Faith quickly

pointed out to me that we eat the

right way: with forks and knives. I

    quietly chuckled to myself, before

    diving into a wonderful opportunity

to teach her how its not right or

    wrong or even bestthe wa

eatit is just different. I a

    thankful God brought us here

our young family. Out of the m

    of babes comes brutal honest

    course it`s not always correct

    often something we, adults,

    thought already. Our children

    wonderful mirror, helping us

    ple with cultural differences th

    often face with resistance or

feelings of superiority. It is a

ing to be here with them.

Thank you so much for your pr

    and financial support over the

4 months. We were kept well dRob`s absence in Kenya and Eu

and we are convinced that it`s

    by these faithful prayers and

grace that we are thriving in

    beautiful foreign land.
