AccuQuote Overview

OVERVIEW We’re excited to welcome you to the Great Lakes® Window team! One tool you’ll use often when working with us is AccuQuote. You’ll use this tool to generate quotes and place orders for Great Lakes Window products. Review the instructions below to download the ordering system on your computer and check out a few tips for getting started. DOWNLOADING ACCUQUOTE ON YOUR COMPUTER

You will receive an email like the one to the left with your AccuQuote user account setup information. Click Download Ply Gem AccuQuote to begin downloading the software. Note: Due to file size, downloading could take several hours. During this time, you can use your computer like normal, but do not log out or power off until the download is complete. When the download is complete, click the Ply Gem AccuQuote icon in your Downloads folder to finish installation.

This will initiate the InstallShield Wizard. Follow the instructions provided, then select Finish. Next, go to your Start Menu. Select Ply Gem AccuQuote.

The first time you launch the program, you will be prompted to download Paradigm+ Base Camp. Installing this program will enable your computer to automatically make updates to AccuQuote in the background to avoid lengthy updates each time you log in. Click the hyperlink to initiate download.

Note: Once installed, it’s important to keep your computer powered on over night and on weekends to ensure updates can be made without disrupting your daily workflow.

Click Yes to complete the download.

Enter your username and password provided in the email on Page 1 and click OK. If you receive an Access denied message stating username and/or password are invalid: Click OK, and to go back to the log in screen and click Forgot your password. Enter your username and email address and a temporary password will be emailed to your email address. If this doesn’t work contact the AccuQuote Helpdesk. Setup is now complete! You will now see the home page of the AccuQuote system. Any important updates or changes related to quotes and ordering will be listed in the main welcome window.

TIPS FOR GETTING STARTED Once you have AccuQuote downloaded and ready to go on your computer, here are a few tips to help you hit the ground running! Tip #1: Watch the video tutorials. Learn the basics of quoting, contacts, preferences setup and more by watching the video tutorials available through the AccuQuote home page.

Select the How To icon along the top navigation bar on the AccuQuote home page.

Browse the topics in the Quotes and Projects and Training Videos tabs and select a link to launch a training video.

Tip #2: Check out the FAQs. Get answers to common questions by reading through the FAQ section.

Tip #3: Upload your logo and company address. Give your quotes a more professional look by following the simple steps below to add your company information to every quote you generate.

Step 1: Adding your logo to the report Create a copy of your company logo named dealerlogo (this is case sensitive) and save it to your My Documents folder. Note: Please use one of the following formats for your logo: .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .tif, .tiff, .gif, .png) Step 2: Adding your address to the report Create a file named dealerinfo.txt (this is case sensitive) and save it to your My Documents folder. Format as seen to the left.

Your addresss information and logo will now appear on all reports beginning with “Ply Gem Dealer Quote”.

Tip #4: Set preferences for your quotes. Store your most frequently used product options as preferences to save time when you generate quotes.

There are two ways to set your preferences. The first way of setting preferences for “one single” quote is by clicking on the Pref Icon. You will be presented with a list of preference questions and answers. All questions will initially be set to No Preferences. Scroll through the questions and pick the options you need, then click the Save button to complete.

Warning: Setting preferences this way does not automatically update any lines that exist on the quote. Only lines added after setting the preferences will adhere to the settings. Second Way: You can also set your Preferences to default for every quote. These Preferences are found in Tools> User Preferences. Once you choose your preferences here they will be used on every future quote you create.

Tip #5: Optimize your tablet settings. Modify your display settings to make AccuQuote easier to use on your tablet.

The following are the recommended setting for tablets or High DPI devices: Resolution size: 1440 X 900 Display size: Set to Smaller (may be indicated as 100%) If you prefer to increase the display size from Smaller it is recommended to disable the DPI setting for the application. First right-click the shortcut used to launch Ply Gem AccuQuote and select Properties from the drop down menu. Second, on the properties menu click the Compatibility tab and check Disable DPI Settings as shown below.
