coach in WSU mens basketball history, March 31, 2014, re-
placing Ken Bone, who served as the Cougar head coach
for ve seasons.
Kent came to Pullman with a 325-254 (.561) mark as a
head coach, having spent six seasons at the helm forSaint Marys in Moraga, Calif., and 13 at Oregon.
In his 13 years at Oregon, Kent compiled a 235-174
(.575) record and a 109-125 (.466) conference mark.
His 109 conference wins rank 17th most in Pac-12
history (including Pacic-8 and Pacic-10 Confer-
ences).
While at Oregon, Kent led the Ducks to seven post-
season appearances, including ve NCAA Tourna-
ment Appearances (2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008) as
well as a Pac-10 regular-season (2002) and two con-
ference tournament (2003, 2007) titles.
COUGARS VERSUS BULLDOGS:
Wednesday is the 149th all-time meeting between Wash-
ington State and Gonzaga with the Cougars holding a 98-50
advantage. Gonzaga has won 12 of the last 15 meetings, WSU has
won 3 of the last 8 meetings.
At Gonzaga, Washington State leads the series, 46-28 (11-
3 at Spokane Coliseum and 0-1 at Spokane Arena), with the
rst of those meetings coming Dec. 16, 1907, a 21-18 victory
for WSU.

teams have played 5 neutral-site games all-time, as WSU
holds a 3-2 advantage in those meetings.
The last time the two teams met at Spokane Arena was a
home game for WSU, resulting in a 73-63 Gonzaga victory,
Nov. 29, 1999.
WSU has lost the last two matchups between it and Gon-
zaga at Spokane Arena, but won the prior two, Nov. 30, 1996
and Nov. 24, 1995.
First-year Cougar head coach Ernie Kent is 5-10 all-time
against Gonzaga as head coach at both Saint Marys and
Oregon.
COUGARS AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS:

2006 when Gonzaga was ranked 18th in the AP Poll.
ROAD WARRIORS:
WSU opened up with a two-game road trip in the state of
Texas, marking just the sixth time it has opened the season
with a true road game outside the state of Washington and
the rst time since Nov. 19, 1999, a 80-55 loss at Nevada.
Washington State was the only Pac-12 school to open the
2014-15 season on the road.
In fact, in the rst two weeks of the season (Friday, Nov.
14-Sun., Nov. 22), just ve true road games were played by
Pac-12 schools, two of those were WSUs games.
The ve road games dont include the seven neutral-site
games.

ing with 18.5 points per game, just less than one point be-
low his 19.4 ppg average last season.
Lacy leads the league with 26 3-pointers made this sea-
son, averaging 3.3 made per game.
Lacy is ninth in the conference for free throw percentage
with a .824 (42-for-51) clip.
Sophomore Josh Hawkinson is fourth in the league in re-

LACY MARKING UP RECORD BOOKS:
Senior DaVont Lacy is making his mark on the WSU re-
cord books.

came the 34th Cougar to reach 1,000 career points, ending
the season in 32nd with 1,023 points.
He is the ninth-fastest Cougar to reach the milestone as
he accomplished the feat in 85 games.
Lacy has since moved up to 18th on the list with 1,171
points and is 51 points away from Ron Bennink (1953-55)
in 17th.
If Lacy were to average the same amount of points as
last season (19.4) and stays healthy and plays at least 31
games, he would nish his career with at least 1,624 points,
which would put him fourth in WSUs record books.
If he sticks with his career average of 12.6 ppg, he will
nish with 1,395 points which would put him at 11th in the
WSU career record books.
If Lacy stays at 18.5 ppg, he would nish with 1,596 points,
which would put him at fourth in WSUs record books.
Lacy is also climbing up the record books for career
3-pointers made and is on pace for the record, currently in
sole possession of seventh place with 207 made 3-pointers.
He is currently 1 away from Isaac Fontaine (1994-97) in
sixth place with 208 made 3-pointers.
Lacy is just 35 3-pointers away from tying Klay Thompson

made 3-pointers per game to reach the record...hes aver-
aging 3.3 right now.

would put him at 12th on WSUs all-time list.
